OKW Room View

I posted a question about room views about 2 months ago. From the responses I received we requested a canal view room. Thanks to all who posted. Has anyone had luck with special requests such as room views etc.?

There are few "Outstanding" views at OKW, there are also few "Awful" views at OKW. As far as view requests being met, it really depends on how fully booked the resort is when you check-in. We usually go to OKW in early December and Early June. Usually, but not always, I am given a choice of 2 to 3 general areas of the resort when we arrive (normally about 9:30 or 10am). If the resort is fully booked, you may not have a choice.

For me, the worst views so far have been bldgs 28 or 29, with the best views being 30 and 31, though I have not been fortunate enough to stay right along the canal. Even with the relatively "bad" views in 28 & 29, the rooms were fine and overall were a good location for us. The overall enjoyment of your vacations to WDW should never be contingent upon the view from your balcony.

If your staying in a one bedroom or two bedroom most of the views are nice. Studios are on the side of the building a views can be bad. If your are staying in a studio I would just forget about the view and try to get a location that you may like.

Bldg 32 is not on the canal ??? 32 is a Fairway bldg (golf tee and water hazard) Bldg 45, 46 are the true "Canal" bldgs.. 55 and 56 have some of the canal if you are on the higher floors.

Well, whatever the water is, water hazard, canal, LOL. It looks like a canal to me. It is right on the fairway.

I have not requested "canal" views precisely, but rather "water view" and have gotten this request granted the last 3 trips. I got bldg 46, 43 and 62. We were happy with all of them, but we did have either a 1 or 2 bedroom villa. The studio views would not necessarily have been as nice I don't think (except for 62). We could actually see Illuminations from bldg 62 the best out of all of our rooms. We could even hear the music faintly.
