okw room sizes

I always here everyone say how roomy OKW is. I have not stayed there yet but I am thinking of strying to in Jan 2009 for a get together with my 4 sisters.
I was wondering since the newer DVC's (BLT and AKL) have sleeper chairs in the living room will OKW and the others get them also? Is that something that is voted about by the resort owners?
I would think something like that would be more important than replacing TV's with a flat panel TV, especially for the families of five that could stay in a one bedroom with more sleeping room.

No, OKW one bedrooms only sleep four people. If you have the five of you, you'll need to get the two bedroom villa. Occupancy is based on fire laws which are based on the ways for people to get out of the burning building, not the amount of space in the room.

DVC would have to revise the documenation with the state of Florida and all the other states they are permitted to see in to raise the occupancy to five. Now it is just informally noted and no additional bedding or linens (including towels) are provided for the fifth person.

That's an interesting question.
Off the top ofmy head, I'd say no. But I'm far from certain.
It just seems to me that there would have to be modifications of some sort...fire codes, number of exits, square footage adjustments, legal and POS documents, something. I just don't see how they could just say now this space sleeps 5. I'm sure one of the other posters with more knowledge on this will shed some light on it, I just thought your question was interesting.

Oh no, I didn't mean this for me and my 4 sisters. God forbid, 5 women / 1 bedroom / 1 bathroom. no way I meant for those folks that have 3 little ones and would like to get a one bedroom to save points.

Fire codes are not the issue for OKW it is just a matter of DVC policy
