Hello: We've(2 adults) have never stayed at OKW and are looking for your help asking for room locations. The good then and the ugly. Thanks, Canadian Tom
OKW is one of the unusual resorts where you can actually request a room (if available) near the Hospitality House. We always seek these rooms, as it's an easy walk to the main pool and recreation area (Conch Flats), the marina, the store, and Olivia's. The resort is very spread out, and we find this convenient. However, there are several pools around the resort, and we've also enjoyed some of the quiet out away from the HH. Another thing to consider is do you care which floor you're on? OKW was the original DVC resort back in the early 90s, and they failed in the fact they did not include elevators in the original design. If you need an elevator, there are several newer buildings (they renovated what used to be model rooms for sales) that do have elevators. If elevators/stairs don't matter to you, then the building won't matter. We actually prefer the top floor (3rd floor in most cases) because we don't have any other guests over top of us making noise.
Not sure if this helps much or if it's the type of info you seek. But I can tell you OKW is a beautiful, peaceful resort with very large accommodations to spread out. And all rooms have a balcony with a view of the water and/or golf course that goes through the resort. Good luck and hope you enjoy.
I would request a room on Peninsular or Millers Road. They’re both very close to the Hospitality House. My 3rd choice would be Turtle Pond. There’s a quiet pool there and a pool bar that has some good food and drinks.
I have not been fond of the South Point area. Buildings 49-54 had a lot of noise from the busy road nearby, and I didn't like the views. However, Building 47 is probably also considered South Point, but we loved the golf views, and it was very quiet.
Our favorite rooms have probably been Millers Road.
What building numbers do you recommend at OKW? We would prefer the top floor and no traffic noise and a good view from the balcony since we don't go into the parks much. Thanks Canadian Tom

The answer to your question depends on whether or not you already have a reservation? If you do and you've reserved a room in the category of 'near hospitality house', you'll be limited to the rooms around the main building and main pool. I don't recall the exact buildings in that category, but probably like 11-15, and then the new buildings, like 62-64. Buildings 23-28 might also be in that category, since they are a pretty simple walk across the bridge to get to the main area. If you get a reservation that is NOT 'near hospitality house', you'll be in a building that's not in these groupings, and then you couldn't even request building 14, for example.
All rooms at OKW have a balcony with a view of water and/or the golf course. The only 'traffic' noise we've experienced at the resort is the potential for hearing the buses at times. Regular car and truck traffic has not been an issue. There might be some folks here who could advise you on buildings to perhaps avoid because they're on a circle where the buses do their round-about. Definitely request top floor, and see if they can accommodate you.
