OKW room preference?

We have booked a 1 bedroom unit at OKW - should I request a particualr room? ARe some views better than others? Any other reasons to request a specific room?

I would not request a specific room, if it isn't available the front desk won't know why you requested that location. It is better to make more general requests, like water view, golf view or wooded view. Also if you are in a one or two bedroom unit there was a design change during construction. Unit in bldgs 20 and lower have one entrance to the master bathroom, through the master bedroom. Buildings 30 and higher have two bathroom entrances...through the master bedroom and through the laundry room.

We loved being near the HH. I think that is a seperate booking category now though.

I 2nd that!! We love and always stay in the Turtle Pond Area. It is not near the main building/pool, however we like the peacefulness the area provides and in my opinion I like the nice walk to the Hospitality House.

We prefer buildings 18-19-20 and we always ask for 2nd or 3rd floor - Even though there are no elevators.

I have to admit that we prefer a high floor but the thought of lugging everything up the stairs. Would it be okay, if we dropped everything heavy off with Bell services (with appropriate tips) and then have them deliver those items?

Sure. In fact, if you drive to OKW, go ahead and park the car at you building and call Bell Services to help you unload and tote it into your room, if you wish.

Interesting that one person's "favorite" area is another's least favorite. For example: I do NOT like the Turtle Pond area at all. We've always been disappointed with our units there. On the other hand, I really like Miller's Road and South Point areas.

I think the point is that you aren't going to know what your preference is until you have stayed there. It's best to say if you prefer high floor or ground floor and then a view of woods, water or golf course. One person's beautiful "woods" view might be anothers feeling of confinment!

I also would encourage you to keep your requests to 3 or less. Also mention if you want to be near a bus stop or a pool as well.

Ironically, our very least favorite villa was in the Turtle Pond Road area, water view. It was building 40, view of a little pond, road noise, and worst was no bunnies or ducks seen all week. Our favorites have been on Miller's Road, 15 and 18.

We were in building 64 room 20 I think, Christmas 2008. Took about 2 minutes to HH bus stop. We had a Course view off our Lanai and HH our our front window to the left. All n All we liked the location very convenient, Shawn

However, we have changed our booking today. We realised that there is only one bathroom in OKW 1 bedroom and there are four of us - so we have opted for two studios instead, however, the ony availability was in Saratoga Springs.

The only thing we requested at OKW was a 1st floor room. With 2 kids (at the time, now it's 3 ) it was way easier then climbing stairs everyday.
