Our party of 8 stayed in two studios the first night of our trip, then moved to a grand villa for the remainder of the week.

We were in building 62 while we occupied the studios. They were very well kept and clean. A small bottle of liquid dishwashing soap, along with a roll of paper towels, paper plates, bowls, and utensils were provided. The bathroom was fairly large with lots of room next to the sink for toiletries. There were two queen beds, and the one that I slept on was very comfortable.

The grand villa was absolutely beautiful and was located in building 63. Downstairs was the kitchen, with dishwasher, refrigerator with icemaker, microwave and stove. All the cookware, glasses, plates, utensils etc. was provided. Off the kitchen was the washer/dryer with three small boxes of Tide detergent provided - this was also where the safe was located.

The living room had a huge cathedral ceiling and was nicely decorated. The sleeper sofa pulled out to form a queen size bed, which my daughter said was quite comfortable. The TV set in this area was larger than the ones in each of the bedrooms. There was a full bathroom off the living room, which was shared by the two people sleeping in that room. The balcony (which could also be reached from the master bedroom) had a small table and four chairs, and our view was lovely - we could see part of the lake and a portion of the golf course. My dad enjoyed spending time here, and made gentle fun of the guys playing "bad golf."

The master bedroom had a king size bed and a huge bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. The two bedrooms upstairs had two beds each, one with two queen size beds and the other with two doubles, and a full bathroom in each upstairs bedroom. Each of the upstairs bedrooms was similar in size to one of the studios we stayed in earlier, except that the bathrooms were slightly bigger in the studios than they were in the upstairs bedrooms of the grand villa.

The grand villa was on the second and third floors, but this building had an elevator, so it was not a problem for us. We were close to the Hospitality House, so the bus stop was close, and we did not wait more than 10 minutes for a bus during our entire trip. Our villa location was extremely quiet - we were never bothered by noise from the buses or anything else during our stay. The castmembers were all friendly and very helpful. We received lots of "welcome homes" while we were here. We used the package pick-up service twice, and both times our packages were delivered in a timely manner and we had no problems retrieving them. We asked for wake-up calls each morning, and we received them each morning but one. I don't know what happened that day, but fortunately we were already awake so not receiving the wake-up call that particular morning was no big deal.

It was too cold to swim for most of our trip, but the last couple of days I did see some people out at the pool and they appeared to be enjoying the new slide.

We greatly enjoyed our stay here and would gladly go back again.

Any questions or comments, please feel free to post.

That sounds wonderful! Thanks for posting. A grand villa at Old Key West is my dream! Unfortunately, DH thinks that they are "too big" and "not enough privacy" when you're traveling with a group, so I may never see the inside of one...but I'll keep working on it! :Pinkbounc

Hi, Susan. We were also in a studio in Building 62 around the same time as you (January 24-31) and we loved it too. We originally chose OKW for our stay because of the low points required, but fell in love with it and are now on a hunt for add-on points there. Gotta have that 1BR next year! I can sit on the huge balcony and watch DH play some "bad golf." :teeth: The Grand Villa sounds wonderful. It must have been awfully hard to leave at the end of your trip. Thanks for your report. I've enjoyed reading it.

Thanks for the report! We are planning a trip in May or June. We are trying to decide between OKW 2 bedroom and BWV 2 bedroom. Any advice? We are traveling 2 families with three children under 10.

My choice would be OKW because of the larger kitchen/family area. YeeeHaaaaw...have fun!

larry's girl - glad you had a great trip! How did the new slide look?

kra623 - I'd also say OKW unless you plan on driving to MK. BW shares a bus w/ BC, Swan, & Dolphin and getting back and forth to MK and some of the other parks can be very time consuming esp w/ youngin's. And before everyone just chalks me up as another OKW owner/lover - VWL is my fav resort. :earboy2: (even though I own at BCV :confused3 )
