OKW question - HH or not?

I'm looking to stay at OKW for our next vacay.
We have 2 boys, they'll be 4 and 1.5 at the time of travel, and planning lots of down time/pool time.
My first instinct was to try to book a HH room, close to main pool, but now upon reading threads, I'm rethinking my initial idea.
Also, I wanted a ground level room, b/c of stroller and sleeping kids (and the rooms by the HH don't have elevators.) But I'm also reading that the views aren't as good from the ground floor...

So really, how long is it to walk to the main pool from the other buildings? Is it worth it to request a building with an elevator (over #30)? To solve both problems???

Thanks!!!

ETA: also wanted to be close to main pool for kiddie pool for the little one...

Buildings over #30 have an extra entrance into the bath, so everyone doesn't have to travel thru the master bedroom. Buildings 62, 63, and 64 (someone will correct the numbers if I'm mixed up) are the only elevator buildings. AFAIK they are not HH, but a short walk to the main pool.

I'm certain more OKW lovers will weigh in on this for you.

No need to walk any farther than the nearest bus stop. ALL buses stop at HH before exiting the resort, and there is an internal bus as well that just keeps making the loop. Also, each pool area (there are 4 at OKW) also have kiddie play areas with a jungle gym type thing. The main pool, however, does have a wonderful sand castle area and wading pond for the toddlers. The biggest issue with staying in the HH area is that you will always have to cross a busy street to get from your unit to the HH and pool. That makes it a little more difficult if you have two little ones in tow. At least if you take the bus, you aren't crossing any streets with them.

Here is the map:

I love a water view and really love the South Point area with canal views

I'm jumping on this thread b/c I have a similar situation. We have kids 13, 10 and 5 and have stayed at OKW "near the Hospitality House" a few times before it was a booking category and liked it fine. But I am wondering if there is another area we will like better? Seems that "near the Hospitality House" seems to have less availability so maybe it would be possible to switch if I change my mind?

Because your kids are young I would recommend HH section or bring life jackets for the kids...there aren't any available at the other pools and you have to go to the community hall near the main pool to get and return them...That being said the poster with the older children we stayed in South Point and it was a great location...close to a quiet pool and playground and about 10 steps if that many from a bus stop I believe we were either building 55 or 56

Water views are really nice, especially for sitting on your patio with your morning beverage. :goodvibes

But we do HH if we travel with my mom because she can head to the store or main pool pretty easily.

I just stayed at OKW this month for the first time and I was in building #63. It was considered an HH category studio and the building did have an elevator. I did have to walk across the street to get to the HH but it wasn't far at all took less than 2 minutes to walk over there.
I just booked OKW again for October but did not request an HH room as I found it didn't really benefit me. I don't have any young kids and I don't refill mugs so I thought a different view would be nice.

So you were booked in HH category and got building 63? That's not supposed to be in the HH booking category.

Hi all.

I don't mean to hi-jack this thread but I have a question, too. Which area in OKW is first stop on the bus route? Thanks!

Yes , in fact, when I checked in they told me they had rooms ready that were not in HH category and I told them I would wait for near HH like I booked. I received a text later in the afternoon that I was in studio #6320.

Returning buses from the parks go to Peninsular Road stop first. Buses returning from DTD stop at HH first.

At least this was my experience:)
