OKW pool rehab - pool hopping ok?

When OKW shuts down the pool for improvements - will OKW residents be allowed to use other resort pools? I had heard a rumor that possibly the Saratoga Springs resort would be just a boat trip away for pool lovers...any insight? Thanks- Steve

Until we hear otherwise, SSR will probably join the pool hopping circuit of WDW resorts. I would say chances are good it will be an alternative when OKW shuts down the main pool.

Pool hopping (with restrictions) continues to be a benefit for DVC members staying at DVC resorts using DVC points.

The word is that when the feature pool at OKW is closed for construction of the slide, any and all OKW guests will be able to use the pool at SSR -- not just DVC members.

Keep in mind that not all OKW guests are DVC members. Some are cash guests and some are Interval International exchange guests.

It shouldn't put too much of an extra load on the SSR pool. SSR will be a very large resort when complete, so it will have a very large pool. But, later this year, SSR will have only a fraction of its eventual units completed and occupied.

Also, many OKW guests will choose simply to use the other three pools at OKW -- if they choose to use any pool at all (it won't be prime pool season).

Thanks Spicey - I was concerned because the Spring newsletter says early May (or so I remember). Glad it won't be an issue for my stay the week of 5/2/04.

it did - but go look at the dvcmember.com - it has the right information.

I won't pool hop using the boat - much, much too cold!!!!
