Could anyone who has been to OKW recently know if they have changed or added to the list of songs that play at the pool? We spend quite a bit of time there with the kids and I always have the same reaction every year. I arrive the first day and immiediatly feel at home because I recognize the familiar song being played . On about day 4 or 5, I am looking for a wire to yank out of the wall when I hear the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald playing again.

I know the music is themed, but certainly they can find a few more songs that are theme appropriate. How does the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald fit in with Key West anyway? This was a Great Lakes freighter that sank in Lake Superior for gosh sakes.

I am not saying that this is a serious problem. I won't be trading in my OKW points for BCV or anything. I am just curious to know if they have changed anything, or if there are other folks out there, like us, who get tired of the same soundtrack over and over.

Funny stuff WDW Dad.... (I forgot about that song yikes!!!)
I agree with you wholheartedly I noticed this too when we used to stay at the ASMusic and again last year at OKW.

We spend every other day by the pool. I think after day 6 or so you start to block it out. I wish they would change the tracks every 2 days or so. Especially this year we are staying longer.
However this year I may just provide my own tunes.

Enjoy your vacation anyway.... We'll be there too.

I have the same reaction with It's a Small World. that song beats through my head when we are at MK.

Ed, I completely agree with you. Maybe that is why I cannot stand that ride! WDWDad, yes it is repetitive, but don't let it get to you! Maybe by now they will have some new tunes..just for you! Are you as excited to go as me? Ww will be down there (and probably humming those songs by the pool) a week from now. WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

WDWDad,
You mean you don't like "Peanutbutter and jellyfish sandwiches"?
LOL. I just go to the tennis courts a few times per visit and it drives me bonkers.
I agree with you on this one, a change might be nice. :)

Gail,

Yea, I had almost forgotten that one. I know there is also a Beach boys tune on the track. I can't remember which.

Can anybody else name one?

I think I'm having a Kokomo flashback But I actually don't mind that one.
But also for all the Parrotheads I remember Cheeseburger in Paradise too.

Keep it going we could probably name the whole tape.

Jimmy Buffet's ''Boat Drinks' is one

I like the Beach Boys!!!! Especially Kokomo.
Isn't Marguritaville on it too?

I guess a change now and then would be in order--tho I like the steel drum music too.
But ANYTHING they play is better than having guests bring their"own" music. Last thing I need is to have a boombox serenade by Vanilla Ice t-boyz Cubed in the Hood--or whatever.

Oh Lord, it's only 7:22am, and I'll spend the rest of the day with "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" stuck in my head.

It's been a long time since we used the main pool. I always remember the steel drums or Jimmy Buffett playing.

One more reason to order several margaritas while poolside.;)

I agree the Beach Boys and Jimmy Buffet should stay. Maybe, even expanded on. I like the steel drum music too, but I prefer to hear that in the evening when the lights are on. Uh O ... OKW flashback...... Warm night, steel drum music, hot tub, ice cold beer in my hand, lighthouse light is flashing, I can see the spotlights from DD shining in the sky, off in the distance I can hear Illuminations fireworks going off, Heavy sigh............ back to reality.

I am racking my brain now to try and remember the rest of the track. Is the song " Go on and kiss the girl " from Little Mermaid on there? It's got a carribean feel. There's got to be more.

I'll let you know when we get back. We're going home in 4 days !

Hey Mike.....if they have an OKW "soundtrack" I will buy it foy you and you can consider it an early birthday present! Then you can listen to it when you get homesick. Well, gotta go. Time to start packing. Are you packed and ready to go??????

I think that the repetition of music is targeted to the kids. Both my DSs, when they were younger, loved to watch the same videos, listen to the same audio tapes & read the same books over & over 7 over again.
