OKW path to DD?

We will be staying at OKW for the first time this summer.

Looking at the map on wdwinfo are the buildings to the "lower right" (would be south-east, but the map doesn't have a "north orientation" legend) on the path that then goes to Downtown Disney? Would this be a good location to walk over to DD for quick meals, etc?

The walkway to DD begins right behind Building 55 at OKW and follows the canal. It is 0.93 miles from the start until you reach Cirque following the walkway. The path is not lighted at night and has signage indicating it is open dawn till dusk.

It takes about 15-20 minutes for the walk at a good pace.

Sounds like a little bit further than I was thinking to just "pop over." I guess I'll hope our BCV waitlist comes through intstead, so we can "pop over" to Epcot!

There is a shuttle boat that goes over to Downtown Disney from OKW that runs about every half hour. It leaves from the main lobby area and is a very pleasant ride over there that take about 10-15 minutes.

The walk from the Congress Park area at SSR will take 10 - 15 minutes a.ong the lake. That will take you to the Marketplace section near the Rainforest Cafe.

In addition, the boat for OKW stops at SSR in both directions - so that is another option.

On our first trip home last Nov., I walked down the path as far as the tee box on the golf course. To go all the way to DTD, do you follow the cart path on the golf course or do you hang a left on the bridge and go towards the clubhouse? Thanks, Philip

If you cross the bridge to the clubhouse, you will end up at SSR (and can get to DD-Marketplace by walking around the far side of the lake).

If you go past the practice green toward the West Side parking area - just follow the sidewalk around the lake/around the parking lot, you will end up at Cirque/HoB.
