OKW or SSR

Finally got husband to agree to let us return to Disney with our 2 children who will be age 6 and 8.

Prices are both about the same, so am looking for advice on whether to book a studio at OKW or SSR.

Pro's for OKW are bigger villa and no need to fold down the bed every night.
Con's are reviews that you may end up far away from the hospitality hut or the pools - not sure what they mean by far away - is it 1/2, a mile a mile or more.

Pro's - seems have received a upgrade to rooms recently so better quality.
Con's - smaller villa and 1 fold down bed.

Any advice on which is best?

You will probably get more responses if you move this to a Disney hotel thread, but, with that said...

I would go with Old Key West. Simply because I prefer the atmosphere and service there. Yes it's very spread out but it was never an issue for us. Saratoga Springs is just a little...plain. My friend is an owner at SSR and loves it there but for some reason it just doesn't do anything for me. I'm not a fan of the theming, or lack thereof. And unless you plan to spend a lot of time at Downtown Disney, I like OKW better for proximity to the parks. But at the end of the day, it's Disney...you can't go wrong either way.

I would say ssr. The pool is zero entry and I find that great for my kids. It has also been renovated most recently b

at OKW you are never far from a pool or bus stop. generally ask to be hear both a pool and bus stop.

now the big pool w/slide is at the HH place. the other pools are community pools - but think your kids would be happy at either place.

now ssr is great if you go to Downtown Disney - it is next door - so walking distance.

it has 2 main pools - and one at the main place- across from Springs - the other is at Paddock - it now has a much better pool and place where you can actually order food.

SSR is more spread out than OKW.

at OKW you are within 10 minutes (you might be able to do it less time) to HH no matter where you stay. Now if your kids are easily distracted then it will take longer - there is a lot to see at OKW.

or you just take a bus to the parks (not DD) - they all stop at HH before going to the parks. coming back you can walk over to Pennisular bus stop (at OKW the bus stops are the street names)

at SSR the bus stops are based on the room number names.

disney seems to love to confuse people....
