As a first time DW visiter with childern (4 & 2)...I want to ensure I make the stay as easy as possible - - and enjoyable too! Planning a May trip and want or need to make my reservations ASAP...but would love some feed back. Also concerned on entertainment for the little ones if it rains...any ideas?

We haven't stayed at OKW, but we really enjoyed SSR. SSR is a beautiful resort, and it has a water play area for little kids with the water jets and and a waterfall. SSR has a nice walk to DD as well.

My son is 8 and we thought he would enjoy BWV so we stayed there this time. Imagine my surprise when we stopped over at SSR and he asked me why we were not staying at the FUN PLACE.... LOL

For us we love SSR in that the condo style feels more like a home and not a hotel rrom. As for OKW I think people have similar feelings.

We love the pools at SSR and love DTD so for us it is the clear winner.

I like DTD view but to be honest I am not too picky other than I want to be at SSR!

Stayed at both in april ,then dec.. I own 50 pts at SSR as a add on, and i am heading back to OKWin two weeks because IMO , OKW is easier with little ones .. While SSR has DTD and more stuff to do , OKW is better for the bus stops.

I haven't stayed at OKW but our first stay at SSR our son was 5 and we went to community hall one rainy day. Would you believe he BEGGED every day to go back. They have ping pong (his favorite), board games, color pages, tv, i believe i saw video games too!

We have not stayed at OKW but my sister has the little ones ad she loves it . There is a zero entry pool and a small slide at SSR so I think that my vote would befor SSR. Good luck

We've stayed at both and my kids (now 11, 8 and 5) loved both resorts. They both have a Community Hall for kids...though we like SSRs better because of the size. SSR also has the arcade next door. We spent more time there than I thought we would! OKW's main pool is nice (my kids LOVED the slide there)...love the zero entry pool at SSR for little ones.

Any mother of a 2 and 4yo would be overjoyed at a trip to the spa at SSR if she has the chance. I think it's a bit overpriced...but it's nice.

OKW has nice big rooms (assuming they would be in a 1BR or larger)...which is certainly a plus when you have small kids running around.

Because of the elevators at SSR, that would be my choice.

Bobbi :)

I vote SSR as we have stayed at OKW, and found the roads at the front of the resort buildings a problem with our kids. Its not like other resorts where there is no traffic, there are cars and buses. Getting to the community hall and pool was not as easy as at eg POR POFQ, due to traffic. Whilst I love OKW for laid back feel I think it is better for adults, and SSR with water jets and footpaths would be better for kids. (We own at SSR and are staying there December)

Still a hard choice! I guess all will be good -- no matter where we stay - we will be at Disney!! :wizard:
