Day 2 begins bright and early. A little too early. A and I actually wake up at the same time, due to the fact that M1 is already up and gone to the pool, seemingly making enough noise to raise the dead (this will be a recurring theme through the trip). I stumble out to make some coffee for the crew. I make the coffee and set out plates and donuts for breakfast. A and I head outside on the balcony to sit in the sun. Yesterday's weather was perfect and it looks like today is shaping up to be the same. We talk about a game plan at MGM, and Mom stumbles out in her PJ's, desperately needing coffee. She makes some for her and Dad and after various and sundry showers we are all pretty much ready to go. Mom and Dad are headed to Epcot with their friends. As we are sitting on the balcony, M1 shows up and joins us. We tell him A and I are headed to MGM and ask if he wants to tag along. He says yes and goes to get cleaned up.
To mention at this point: A and I are former cast members of the Disney Store, and A has been saving up her four free passes a year for several years. She has generously offered M1 the use of half of them, as she has more than enough (I have purchased an annual pass as I used up my free passes long ago!!). That is the way A is: I have never met a more kind soul. Anyway, we hit the busstop and wait about 10 minutes for the MGM bus. It arrives and we're on our way!
A and M1 trade in their vouchers for passes and we're off. We head first to ToT. Wait time is listed as 25 minutes, but we wait 10, tops. M1 likes this ride and has a good time (Note: love the new seatbelt only effect!). He passes on RNR due to back problems. He's worried it will be too rough. We head to the Great Movie Ride, which A and I love but M1 falls asleep in!! After that, we're ready for lunch. Back to the Sunset Market where A and I get footlong hot dogs and M1 gets a turkey leg. The only problem is, he didn't realize a turkey leg was actually a turkey leg! He thought it was code for a turkey hotdog! He refuses to admit his mistake to the cast member, takes the turkey leg and promptly throws it away. A gives him half her hotdog (I wouldn't have and didn't. It's his own fault he didn't open his mouth when he saw the cast member put it on his tray. They could have resolved the issue right there) and we finish eating.
We head to the Muppets with a stop at Pizza Planet. My mom is addicted to the claw games and has an entire bed in the spare room at home covered in oddly colored animals. I try my hand and actually win a fish and a bear. And it only cost me $15.00!!!
A and I decide we want to go to the Muppets, but M1 decides to stay with the basketball game at Pizza Planet. We hit Muppets, which is great, and head back out to find M1. He is tired of the parks and wants to go back to the pool. We bid him adieu and set off for WWTBAM and StarTours. We had intended to only spend half a day here and then head to MK, but by the time we'd slowed down enough to enjoy an ice cream cone, we realized it was almost 7pm! Guess MK will have to wait until tomorrow!
We head back to the room where M1 is sitting in front of the TV. He says my parents have headed to dinner with J&M2 and he's alone. I notice he's acting somewhat peculiar, so I look around and see that the once sealed, completely full bottle of rum I had brought was now noticably less full. Turns out M1 is COMPLETELY drunk! He and I are at opposite ends of the political spectrum, and he is watching some opinion show on TV. He decides he wants to engage in a political debate with me that while I do enjoy when he's sober is no fun when he's drunk. It basically consists of him yelling at me at the top of his lungs until I can't stand the noise and give up.
About this time my parents show up and they are beat. Dinner at Jiko, however, was a success, and they raved about the food. I hustle them off to bed so they don't notice M1 is three sheets to the wind, and by the time I finish my "good nights" he is gone! A says he got upset when she called her boyfriend, said he was going swimming and took off without his swimsuit. I immediately have visions of a drunk, naked and drowned man and wonder if Disney can revoke our Vacation Club Membership if that occurs. So A and I take off to find him. He is not at the local pool, so we head down to the main one. He is not there either. By the time we make it back to the room, he has returned and is passed out on the couch. Whew...points saved for now!
We decided to go to bed as well, although sleep was not so easy in coming as M1 was stumbling in to be sick in our bathroom every hour or so. He finally passes out for good about 2am and A and I can get some sleep. MK in the morning!
