Just booked a 1 bedroom at OKW and had to waitlist for HH. If we don't get HH, we would like to have a water view and be as close to HH as possible. What would you recommend? Also, should we request a 2nd or 3rd floor or are the ground floor views good too? TIA:)

We were in building 45 last trip to OKW - we really loved the location. We had a ground floor room and it was great :thumbsup2

Buildings 45 and 46 are our favorites as well. Another choice would be buildings 15, 16, 18, 19, 61, 62, and 63.

Thank you. We have teens with us, so don't really want the rooms where you have to walk through the master BR to get to the bathroom (Buildings under 30?) Can someone elaborate how close those buildings are to HH and what the vews may be. I know that people have been kind enough to post the maps of OKW, buy I am currently using an ipod touch and cannot enlarge the screen enough to see it clearly:teeth:

You are correct, buildings numbered 30 and up will also have access to master bathroom through laundry room.

I agree with Diane on 45 and 46; or maybe 32, 33, 34, 35 as these are still a convenient walk to HH area but they are also convenient to Turtle Pond bus stop (all buses will stop at HH last before leaving OKW) and Turtle Pond pool is very nice - there's small arcade, a snack bar located there although I can't recall for sure if it's open all year round; 32 & 33 have pondview, 34 & 35 would seem to have pondview from some units depending upon location.

:goodvibes

Just a reminder, if you are on a waitlist for near HH...none of those building will have the 2nd entrance to the bathroom.

DI , There isn't a building 61 , did you mean building 64, if so that is a nice building, they have water and the number 7 hole on the golf course . WELCOME HOME.

I'm curious, we stayed last visit in buiding 47,I wasn't too impressed with location,we'd always stayed HH before this,it got me wondering about how people decide which buildings they like vs others....one room in 47 was AWFUL,IMO,too close to road, but when we moved to other side of same building, not so bad.
Are some of the WAY out buildings bad? Like the ones you can see thru the trees from Bonnet creek parkway?
I personally like HH the best, with maybe 23-26 as a second choice....I think my worry always is getting a room that to our family is not a vacation, but something we have to tolerate,KWIM? I think the majority are nice, but it seems there are a few that, well, just aren't.
And, I think it makes BIG difference if you have a car or not. If you do,staying way out in the boonies is no issue, but if you don;t,it feels really isolated from the actual resort

Hi folks. Can you tell me your opinion of the circle with bldgs. 53-56? Looks like a pool and playground and bus stop nearby. We're looking for a more quiet location with "nature" as our view.

Thanks,

Thanks,

I would guess that blag 53 could get some bus noise, but over all that area is a nice location, we've been in bldg 55 twice. I would avoid bldgs 51 and 52, if possible, because the busses run through that parking area.

Sounds great, thanks.

Sorry to borrow this thread but I have a related question. I also booked at OKW for my DD and some college friends to make a short trip in mid-May. I chose OKW because of the larger studios and the 2 queen bed layout. They want to spend some time at DTD. On the Member website it said that there was a water launch to DTD but I cant find it on the linked map. Can someone tell me where the dock is and since I am waitlisted also for near HH, is there a better section to request to get closer to the dock? They will be dependent on Disney transporation so I want to make it easy for them.

The ferry dock is directly behind main check-in. If you look at the map, the area where the canal dead ends, next to the main swimming pool, is the marina/dock area.

if you're near HH that's closest to the ferry-if you;re in a farther out building, like 45 etc there's a very nice walking path to DTD

We have stayed in all those buildings, and never heard any bus noise. I must admit I was a bit surprised though. Our favorite in that area is building 55.

We are in building 19 now. You do have to go through the master bedroom to get to the bathroom. Our room directly overlooks a quiet pool. Its cold here so no one is swimming. I don't know how I'd feel about this in warmer weather. Also we are right across from the Miller Rd. bus stop. So if you want close to quiet pool and close to bus stop, this may be okay. Buses are kind of noisy, but not nearly as noisy as the boats outside our room at the Boardwalk!
