OKW Location Request

Those Ding fares get us everytime! We got great airfare on Southwest for the long July 4th weekend to Tampa where my sister lives. We offered to treat the family to a couple of nights at our DVC and they gladly accepted. We won't be doing any parks and due to short notice, the only available location with a 2 bedroom is OKW. Actually, I am excited to try out OKW as I want to experience every DVC resort possible and I read so many lovely things about it. I did some research on OKW and would like suggestions on a room location request. My sister smokes (yuk) so I had to request a smoking unit. DH has a bad knee and is putting off knee surgery until after our August trip and has difficulty with stairs. I don't want to be too specific i my request but are there smoking rooms near the main pool area where I can request a ground floor unit? Any other suggestions? Oh, and we will likely be spending most of our time at the pool and DTD. Is it better to request near the boat launch? I know a request is just a request, just want to give it our best shot!

both building 12 and 19 are smoking - both are pretty close to HH - but 12 is definitely closer.

that say I like the swimming pool at 19 better.

just ask for a first floor for medical reasons - knee surgery is definitely a medical reason.

get him a wheelchair not to sit it - but it is a great help for walking....

both of these are the older style - so there is not a second door to the master bathroom.

If you're particularly interested in the main pool and the boat to DTD, you'd probably want to be near Hospitality House. Also, you might want close to a bus stop. In May, our building was right behind a bus stop so it was so convenient. Yet, we never heard any buses from there.
