We just heard that we have passed the FROR and our paperwork is on the way! Can't wait to start booking and see OKW

Can anyone tell me about the studio rooms? How big is the fridge, what can I fit in it? Is there anything other than a microwave? And what is the best location? Is it big enough for DH, DD4 and me?

Most important... What is the best location?

Welcome Home! I have never stayed in a studio unit, but I think you would have plenty of room for the 3 of you. I prefer the 1 bedroom unit to the studio because of the full kitchen, washer and dryer and whirlpool tub. But the studio will save points. I am not sure on the refrigerator size, but I know it is not full size.

We have liked all the locations we have stayed at so far. We do prefer being as close to the main pool as possible, but that is just us.

A studio is like a large deluxe hotel room with 2 queen sized beds, a small table with two chairs, a large closet on one side of the hall to the bathroom with a small sink, microwave, cupboard, standard undercounter fridge (like you would have in a home bar area), toaster, coffee maker etc. The bathroom is very large, but in the studio units, the only sink other than the bathroom one is the small one in the kitchenette area.

Congratulations & Welcome Home!!

We stayed in an OKW studio in January. With me was my DW and DS4. We had plenty of space. It was much larger than a standard hotel room. The fridge was a nice size--much larger than a dormitory fridge. Enjoy OKW. You will love it.

You'll love OKW. We do and we are a family of three, also. But once you stay in a one bedroom, you'll never go back to a studio. OKW one bedrooms are the best.

I agree about one bedrooms being great. However, they are twice the points as a studio so why waste it if you don't have it?

Some people don't consider the extra points for a 1 bedroom wasting :thumbsup2 We feel it's well worth the cost in points for the full kitchen, jacuzzi, large balcony & washer/dryer.......especially for longer trips (anything over 4 nights or so). But to each their own. DVC has something to offer everyone

HOME !
You'll love OKW. As for the location....we like pretty much all of them. I actually just request "water view" and have never been disappointed. We particularily like the Southpoint section water views but they are a little further from the main pool. It doesn't bother us, as the walk is not more than 6-10 min depending on which building you're in. We've also been placed very near the main pool and HH in building 62 and enjoyed that as well (though there was a little bus noise from this building).

Good advice everyone. I love having a full kitchen and feel like I'm saving money doing it that way, but where do you get groceries when you are there? I noticed that there is a small store on the property, but how are the prices? Verses renting a car or taking a cab to the store outside the property? I like the idea of the water views too.

I'm also wondering about the discount on passes? Do you get an annual or multi day pass?
