OKW Grand Villia at 7 months

We are BWV owners, and are looking to stay in a OKW GV for a trip next year. We have stayed in the BWV GV before, but its a little too pricey for this trip. We are hoping to go in (non-holiday) December 2008 or January 2009. What kind of shot do you all think I would have at the 7-month mark?

Dec is very popular, so I don't think you would have a good shot at Dec. But, depending on when you plan to go in Jan, it would just depend. Why don't you go ahead and get a two bedroom and studio at BWV so you'll have something if the GV at OKW falls through.

IMO, no chance at all in December. In January you MIGHT have a chance if you don't hit New Years Week, Marathon Week or MLK week. That doesn't leave much possibility. I would try the 2 bdrm plus studio combo as Deb suggested.

This is why we eventually did an add on at OKW. 7 month opening just didn't get us into a GV at even mildly popular times - and the popular times seem to be spreading out wider and wider as Disney gets more skillful at holding events to attract people at times that used to be slow.

Oh wow we are trying to do the exact same thing for Jan 2009. We own at SSR but want a GV @ OKW so we don't have to spend as many points. Looks like we may have to with 505 pts at SSR after all. I guess that would be better than paying for 2 of the 2 bedroom units for the 12 of us

Yeah, this is what I figured. I will be doing the 2br/studio thing, and then give it a shot and waitlist for ha-ha's. Thanks.

don't give up hope .. I booked day-by-day for an OKW GV for 12/13-19 and MS told me Saturday morning that they still had GV's available for all days in December.

You never know until you ask ..but I do agree with others, that early December has been sold out for DVC for the past few year shortly after the 7 month window became available.

That is great news I close this week my home is old key west and I want to book a villa as soon as I am in the system for December 7thur December 11 2008 wish me luck I hope there is something left when I call in the next few weeks.
