For those who have seen/stayed in one, how do they look? I did a search and saw they were a bit bigger than the SSR one that we toured, but as far as the decor, do they look just like the other OKW rooms only bigger, or is there anything different about the GVs other than the floor plan?

Also, how many of them are non-smoking? I was wondering about our chances since they always say they can't guarantee what room you'll get.

Thanks :)

P.S. I did find this page with links to pics of one:

those pictures are what I have seem.

more wood on the floors instead of carpet.

the bigger dinning room table.

they use to have bigger tv's.

The furnishings and theming are similar to the other villas at OKW (just as the SSR and BWV GV's are similar in theme to their respective resorts).

There are two smoking optional GV's at OKW. They are found in building 19- across from the Miller Road bus stop and next to the neighborhood pool. The other 25 are non-smoking.

Here is more information about the <a href="http://disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=1251562#post1251562">OKW building layout.</a>

Enjoy!

We visited one in June while we were staying at SSR (We've seen the SSR GVs too).

There is MUCH more open space in an OKW GV...mostly in the great room, upper balcony area and some in the kitchen. Two people can work in the OKW kitchen. I wouldn't recommend that at SSR.

There is more seating at OKW...both have a Dining Room table for 10 (??) but OKW has an extra round table with 4 chairs in the great room and a table for 4 on the balcony. SSR's balcony is much smaller with only 2 chairs.

OKW has a real laundry room and full sized washer/dryer...SSR has stackables in the closet. They both get the job done.

OKW has a little more seating in the living area.

The master bedroom area might be a bit bigger at OKW..but I'd say the baths are the same size. The secondary bedrooms and bathrooms are basically the same size.

SSR has much nicer furnishings througout and feels more plush (carpeted througout except for Kitchen). OKW is more more casual (and a bit dated if you ask me). OKW has hardwood floors on the lower level and carpet. SSR has granite countertops...OKW has tiled.

SSR has surround sound wired in...they may have more up to date electronics too (not sure about that though).

If you are really looking for space...go with OKW hands down.

If you have a tough time with noise levels, OKW Grand Villa is not the place to stay. The noise from the kids just running around, and the tv on would drive me beserk. I would have to go into the master bedroom and shut the door just to regulate myself.

This year we are staying in a 2br with just my own family and I can't wait.

The Grand Villas are beautiful, but I too prefer the 2-bedroom. There is a LOT of noise radiating up the stairs from the kitchen and if you are in the bedroom right above the kitchen, it is tough to sleep in. And yes, kids love to run around on the hardwood floors and up and down the stairs! It has tons of space, though and is extremely lovely. We will use it again when more family members come with us because it just makes more sense – everyone wants to stay together. Except for that caveat, it is wonderful!
