We have made reservations for 2 Two bedroom villas at OKW for October of this year. We have 12 going. We have been put on a wait list for a grand villa. For you experienced DVCers I would love an opinion. First ... What are my chances of getting a GV between now and then? Second ... Will I regret having 12 people in a GV? I guess I am asking about size, will we be crowded? As I said, I am just asking for opinions. Thanks!!!

I'd stick with the two 2BR's. The GV is very nice, but for 12 people they will have to be very good friends. There is a king bed in the Master Bedroom downstairs; a pull-out sofa in the great room downstairs; and two bedrooms upstairs one of which has two queen size beds and one has two twin (or is ti full?) size beds.

I would say to stick with the 2 bedrooms too. The Grand Villa is nice, but if you have 12 in it, that means you will have 3 bedrooms and two people on the couch. If you get the the 2 bedroom, you have 4 bedrooms and no one has to be on the couch unless they want to. Also two of your beds in the GV will be doubles, whereas in a two bedroom you will have 2 kings and 4 queens.

We stayed in a Grand Villa last spring and we enjoyed it, it was something we'd wanted to do for 15 years. We had a party of 7. However, we decided that we'd do a two bedroom and a studio from now on with a party that size for a variety of reasons.

Loved the pictures. What week did you go in January? We are looking at the first week in Jan '09 and were worried it may be too cold.

We love the OKW GVs, and yes, we once had 12 in one! It does mean two folks have to sleep on the queen size sofa bed in the living room, but they do still have their own bathroom, so it's not so bad. I really like that the OKW GVs have 4 bathrooms. Now as for October.....It might be a long shot, since that is F&W festival time, and a popular time with DVCers. We last stayed in a GV 2 years ago in October, and I reserved day by day at the 11 month window.

We've had 12 in a GV twice. Since we take the master br, we have a retreat from the kids and parents that have been our guests. We had 2 studios with a GV once and when we had a meal in, 19 people was a lot, but this only lasted during a meal.
Now, if you are talking 12 adults, that's to much unless you have collage age willing to sleep on the fold out.
For 12 and a points savings, did you consider a 2br and a studio? We find most of our time is spent showing WDW to our 1st timers who "have to see it all" but the GV has been best for us with a large group.
