OKW Grand Villa 7 months out - any chance???

I am wanting to reserve a Grand Villa for one night December 2005 (night before cruise). My home resort is SSR.

From your experiences, is there any chance of getting a Grand Villa 7 months out or would I be better off renting the points from an OKW member and have them make the reservation for me? Either way will work, I would just rather use my points if possible (one less out of pocket expense in a round about way).

I would say in Dec that it is not likely unless it is Fri or Sat night. They tend to be vacant those nights because of the high point value but in Dec that might not be so. Dec is a very busy month except the few days before Christmas. They have GV's at SSR, I would try there. I know the points are higher but at least you have a better chance at 11 months. Maybe you could book one there and at 7 months check on OKW.

I totally agree with Marilyn. This December, all of the OKW GVs were booked very early on for December.

If you're looking to book 7mos out for May - you have a great shot but Dec. not so much. Although, ya never know for just one night - I'd also book the GV at SSR and then try to swich over at 7mos. The busier times of the year for DVC are when home resort really comes into play.

Thanks everybody. I knew you OKW vets. would know all about GV and December.

The crazy thing is I was considering buying 50 OKW resale points to make sure I got my GV. Ok maybe not crazy on this board
I mean who couldn't use another 50 DVC points.

I think I will either rent points from an OKW DVC Member or do the SSR thing and try for OKW. We have always wanted to stay in the OKW GV and this is the perfect time (we use to rent OKW points from this board before becoming DVC members with SSR purchase).
