We are staying at OKW for the first time in a few days. We want to arrive at the EMH park each day early enough to make it worthwhile. Would it be faster and easier to take Disney transportation? We will be driving down.
I remember seeing on another thread that it is faster to take Disney transportation when going to MK. Not sure about the other parks.
Also, does this hold for other times of the year? We are returning in May,
again to OKW.

Also, do you think the extra magic evenings will be offered during during the summer?

Thanks.

Bus transportation to the parks from OKW is comparable to transportation from any other WDW hotel. The stumbling block can come if you "just a miss" a bus and have to wait for the next one. I very rarely bother using the car because I'm not convinced you save much time (if any).

The bus to the MK is the way to go. The bus drops you off so that you just walk over to the gate. If you drive, you have to take either the ferry or the monorail to reach the main entrance.

Buses begin running to the resorts about an hour before park opening. They are usually on an every 20 minute schedule at that time.

I agree with Pam's assessment about the buses. We always use the WDW transportation from OKW.

I expect that EMH will continue thru the summer (and beyond)! :)

Enjoy!

Sounds like good advice from the experienced.

Thanks Pam and Doc.

We used to bus to MK for EMH. However, for AK, we drove to EMH because we were leaving that day. Not sure about the other parking lots (and TTC is probably not even an issue) but the lanes into the parking lot were closed until approx. 15 or maybe 20 minutes before EMH started. We got there and saw lines of traffic just starting to move through the gate. Of course, since almost everyone had a resort parking pass with their car (for emh), the traffic flowed fairly quickly. Just an observation....

We have always used the bus to the MK from whatever resort we were staying at because it drops you off right in front, rather than having to take the monorail or ferry.

As far as the other resorts, driving or busing is equally "do-able", IMHO.
