OKW for FD bounceback

It seems like a great value to me. In a 2 bedroom they allow 8 adults. So with 8 adults you get 319.92 in free food. Meaning you get the room for roughly 110 a night.

Even if you wanted a 2 bedroom for 4 adults- that's still only 269/night for the room and each couple gets their own room plus all that extra space! That's a steal!

I thought I read that it's (30% off) just for the studio, I could be wrong. I have been a a couple threads on this subject hoping to have someone that actually booked this to post.

A steal for you is too much for me. I'll stick with my value.

I am going to book 2 rooms, called CM today and they said yes they would book two rooms if you have 2 adults in one room during your stay now! I was thinking of CSR, but family loved POFQ.

1. It will most likely only be off the studio--most other size rooms fill up from points.
2. I was under the impression that there is still an additional adult charge for extra adults for those staying cash versus points, but I may be wrong
3. They wouldn't know what they have available except for those that have already traded out 2009 points for other collections. DVC members have an 11 month home resort window and a 7 month non home resort window for booking so it is developer space and rooms leftover from tradeout. Availability will change as owners book/ trade out.

Nomad, that is per night, correct?

Not much of a bargain if your resort of choice is a value or even a mod.

Yes, these are the per night figures. I found them on Mousesavers. I agree not much of a bargain if you typically stay at a value or moderate. When I saw the extra discount I thought great maybe nows my chance to try one of these places out. When I did the math I couldn't justify the cost.

DVC retains about 4% of inventory for rental to the public. This is the inventory that CRO has available to rent out. Other than that, inventory could come from 3 sources:

First, DVC inventory that gets traded out for the Disney Collection (i.e., WDW, DL, DLP, TDL, or HKDL hotels, or most commonly, DCL cruises) is released for CRO reservations. DVC does this to cover the cost of these items.

Second, at 60 days out from arrival, DVC releases rooms to CRO for rental. Howver, DVC members that decide to travel short notice can still book these rooms, but in general, there is more DVC inventory for rent at 2 months out.

Third would be any resale inventory that DVC currently holds from executing Right of First Refusal on a resale. DVC can do whatever it wants with that until they resell it.

Therefore, my guess is at this point, that all of the CRO rooms may already be gone. One other significant point to make is that the current promotion for purchasing DVC points at AKV (whether new or add-on) is "developer points" that can be used in the next 12 months, only at SSR, but they can only be reserved at 7-months. This is likely to reduce the SSR inventory out there.

So if the 30% is Studio and FD, that's pretty much in line with what I figured for a mod. I can't seem to find out though, is the OKW studio similar to the ASMsuite?

Couldn't find anything on the layout of the studio :confused3

Studios are similar to a Deluxe Resort room, with the addition of a small kitchenette. The kitchenette has a toaster, microwave, under-counter refrigerator with small freezer, coffeemaker, and bar sink. Disposable hot and cold drinking cups, paper plates and bowls, plastic utensils, a sponge, paper towels, a can opener and a corkscrew are furnished. Coffee, creamer, sugar and sweetener are supplied in small amounts. The room is 390 square feet and has two queen size beds, a nightstand, a small table with two chairs, and a ceiling fan. There is an armoire with a TV and dresser drawers underneath, and a nice-sized closet. Inside the closet is a vacuum cleaner, iron, ironing board, portable crib with linens, and a key operated safe. The bathroom, equipped with a hairdryer, is extremely large with drawers and under-sink storage. All villas have a patio or balcony with two chairs and small table. Studio units sleep four, plus one child under the age of 3 in a crib.

These rooms are nothing like the suites, which are 2 value rooms combines into one.

I had also thought I might get a 2 bdroom for my DH and I and my brother's family. After doing the math, we are going with a moderate. It's not worth another $700 to have the extra room, and with FD we aren't going to be saving money by eating meals in our room.
