I have a question has anyone ever approached disney with the idea of doing a like kind exchange for okw to beach club. I know you could sell okw and then buy beach club but lets say you just wanted to do a switch with disney and let them try to sell okw. It might cost you additional to buy beach club but you could avoid the hassle of trying to sell and buy. Just curious if anyone has every tried this or approached disney on it. thanks

several people have - you have to sell it - think they still have the buy back that is alot lower - think it was $10 less than you brought from them?

might be lower.

so would wait for OKW price to go up again (it might just not now because of the economy)

then sell if yourself.

you can ask if any BCV member wants to trade for your points at OKW.

definitely understand had to sell my OKW points to buy BLT - but did it long enough ago that did not lose money - although Disney did buy one contract back

Oh ok I bought mine in 1993 at okw and just like the beach club for the pool.

thanks for your help

Just use your OKW points at 7 months out to reserve at BCV. We've done it a time or two. No problem at 7 months.

A few years ago, we wanted to change home resorts so I called our guide to ask about trading home resorts (it wasn't the specific OKW/BCV combination, though) At that time, he told me that DVC doesn't do that, so we had to go through the sell/buy process.

I know they say buy where you want to stay but in the end you can stay where ever you want. I've never had trouble getting into BCV, AKV, BWV, WLV at 7 months and I own at OKW. I typically don't travel during the X-Mas Holidays or Easter, maybe at that point you need the 11 month window but even the couple of times I have, I still didn't have a problem. Why go through the hassle or spend the extra cash?

I agree with PP. We have stayed at other DVC resorts and booked at the 7 month window without a problem. We booked a dedicated two bedroom (with 2 queen beds) at BC at the 7 month window in July.

Ok it seems like when we have tried to book at the 7 month window we have not had much luck that is why we wanted to have bcv. thank you everyone for your help
