I am leaving today! I do have one question. I'm staying at OKW, can I use the fitness center at SSR, my home resort? I know we can pool hop but I wasn't sure about the fitness center! Also, can I run from OKW to SSR? I'm not sure of their proximity to each other!

Thanks so much!!

Elena

hmm....not sure about using the fitness center at SSR if staying at OKW, but I would think so (I'm sure someone who knows for sure will come along and post though;) ). As for your run, there is a walking path near bldng.55 I believe in the Southpoint section at OKW that leads to DTD. I understand they are suppossed to have it so that it would be walkable to SSR too but not sure if that's been done yet. If nothing else, you can walk to DTD via that path and SSR is walkable from DTD. May be quite a walk. I couldn't say as I've never even taken the path just to DTD although I do know it exists.

HTH's. Have a great trip!

You can definitely run to SSR from OKW. There is a path at the end of southpointe then just follow the signs. DH and I rented bikes at OKW in Dec and rode them over to check out SSR its not to far. Not sure about using fitness room there but I'm sure you can ask at check in

I was there last Oct, and yes. Take the path at southpoint, bld. 55 and it is a 15/20 min jog. Show your DVC card and you're in, and it is well worth it.
THEN, you stop by the spa on your way out for another 45 min. and your feet won't touch the ground on the way home. Have fun!

Yes, you can use all of the DVC fitness centers while staying on points at one of the other resorts. When we used to stay at OKW, I would drive over to the BWV to use the fitness center there. When we stay at either the BW or BC, I'll use half the equipment at one, and jog over and use the other equipment there. Years ago, I called and verified it was ok with member services, and recently I read it was allowed in one of our guide books.
Enjoy.

Great! Thanks so much for the information! I'm really excited!

As long as you are a DVC member you can use the SSR fitness center (this was different from the last time I went)-- this time, I had to show my room key AND my DVC member card.

I just wanted to add that, while the OKW fitness center is small, it has all new equipment in it, and isn't too bad or too crowded!

Thanks all for the info! Just a side note. I went down planning to purhase a 50-70 point add on. After talking to my guide and actually seeing SSR I purchased 170 points! With the $10 off per point plus my CM discount these 170 cost $10 less per point than my original 180 last year! I'm pretty excited! I'm sure it won't take long to figure out how to use 350 points!

LOL! It definitely wont take long! We did a similar thing about 8 years ago when we purchased at OKW. We bought 230 points originally and after one trip, added on another 150! The 380 is just about right for us.
