OKW Fitness Center?

I need a little help with this guys. My DH and I will be going home next weekend to OKW. This will be our first time to stay outside of SSR. We love the fitness center at SSR! Can anyone compare the two or at least tell me what to expect from the one at OKW? Thanks in advance.

The fitness center at OKW is not comparable to Sturdy Branches at VWL. The space is smaller and the equipment is much older. It is certainly usable, but IMO the surroundings are not as comfortable as those at BWV, VWL or (especially) SSR.

I do believe they have made improvements to the Fitness center at OKW. I walked thru in June and it looked more "refreshed" than I remember from our walk thru back in 2003.

It has a ladies locker room with 1 or 2 shower areas. It is a small space and a big difference from SSR.

Yes, you can still use SSR Spa and Fitness Center.

There is a nice trail that connects OKW and SSR, so in the spirit of fitness, you could get a nice warm up by walking over and walking back.

The trail starts by Bldg 55 and is called the Conch Flats Nature Trail. Follow the trail over the Golf Course bridge, then hang at right to the boat dock. Go up the back stairs (Turf Club Entrance) and the Fitness center is in the front.

Its great to know there is a path between the two resorts. Do you know about how long it would take to walk to SSR from OKW? I will be at OKW on Sunday and dont want to miss my daily workout. If your there, I will be the one with a giant pregnant belly huffing and puffing on the cardio equiptment!

Unless they've made radical changes at OKW, there's absolutely no comparison to the fitness center at SSR. More equipment, more room, nicer setting (since it's in the spa).

I believe the exact Disney Policy is, if you are staying at an onsite resort that has a Fitness Center, you can use any onsite Fitness Center for no additonal fee.

So if you are at an All Stars or Pop, you would have to pay for the Fitness Center. Not sure what the mods offer, but if they dont have one, you have to pay to use one onsite.

The DVC resorts all offer a Fitness Center so we are able to use others while on points or cash. Being a member and staying at PoP, you would not be eligible unless you pay the daily fee.
