OKW first timer with scooters questions?

I have been to Disney several times but I have just become a DVC owner and the later part of our vacation we will be staying at OKW. Here is my question: we are planning on going to the MVMCP but first we have a 5:30 rsv at Cali Grill. What would the best situation to get to dinner. Boat to Downtown to Contemp bus or MK bus and then monerial? Due to medical issues my hubby and I will both be in scooters this year and we have a 12 year old son. So just taking our car would be tough because we can't fit both scooters. Also what about breakfast at kona and mk all day and epcot and other parks. Is there any tricks to getting transportation with scooters?
We asked for either a bottom floor or a room in one of the 3 elevators because of the scooters, so I am wondering should I plan on over an hour in transpertation time? We never have had to use scooters before so I am a little nervous.

They helped me work through some logistics and had great advice for getting around the World with scooters/walking assistance.

If the bus pulls up with someone already in a scooter spot, only one of you would be able to load. I'd leave a whole lot earlier than one hour before. I'd leave one hour before if both of you could stand on the bus. Two hours may be needed to make sure you both get there on time.

In my opinion, your odds of both getting on the same bus might be higher at DTD, so I would probably do the boat to DTD/DTD to CR route. I haven't seen scooters on the boats to DTD, but I know there is a limit of two scooters per boat now on the Epcot resort transportation boats, because I've seen them make people wait during my trips this year - so you may run into the same issue there.

Since both of you are on scooters, I would try to minimize your transportation each day. For example, hit MK resort restaurants on a day you are going to MK (like you are for the party), but don't try to do an MK resort restaurant on a day, say, where you are going to AK because all the transportation takes up time. If you are planning a meal at an Epcot resort, do it on a DHS or Epcot day. Also, keep in mind that from your reservation at Cali Grill, you can use your scooters on the walkway to MK afterward, so you don't have to use any Disney transportation. The same would hold true if you are dining at an Epcot resort and returning to Epcot or DHS - you don't have to take the boat since there are sidewalks to both parks.

I've seen several families with multiple scooters, so it can be done!
