The OKW boat stops at the Pleasure Island boat dock. If you want to get a boat to SSR, it's at the same dock. If you want to go to POR/POFQ, you'll need to go to the Marketplace dock. There is a shuttle boat that goes among the three stops - Marketplace, Pleasure Island and Westside.
yeh... i am staying there in 2 weeks... i looked into it and it said that you can only go to DTD from OKW... im not sure i would use it that often... though i used the ferry when i stayed at WL last year... but that was going to MK so it was vastly different...
I take it you haven't been on the older boats they used about five or six years ago. Those were much smaller, only held about six people besides the boat captain. The newer boats are bigger, but not "ferry" sized like the boat at the MK.
However, they still ferry you from OKW to DTD and back.
That is correct; each time, I have gone from OKW to the Pleasure Island stop, you have had to change boats to get to Marketplace, then transfer to the water taxi for either SSR or POR/POFQ.
I always do that on my last day; go to breakfast at Olivia's, do some last minute shopping over at DTD, then proceed to SSR to the Turf Club for lunch; then back to Marketplace dock and then to POR to go home.
Kinda eases the pain of having to go home.....and it makes for a very relaxing day.
Hahah no my first stay at OKW was only in January so I didn't ever see the smaller boats. I just meant that no one should expect the MK ferry coming down that little water way!
That being said, if anyone is planning on riding the boat to DTD and there's at all a cool breeze or a chill in the air, do yourself a favor and take a sweater!
In the old days with the smaller boat, they didn't even run the boats if the temperatures got below a certain point. It was too cold even for the captain.
