OKW experts?

Hey you OKW experts: this place looks big. How do we get around, like from Olivia's to one of the smaller pools and so on. Are there golf carts or a shuttle bus?

You can hop on the buses to travel around. The last stop is generally the Hospitality House. I believe that after 4 pm there is an Internal Bus to get around. No golf carts.

The bus returning from DD will stop at HH (near Olivia's) first before going to the other stops at the resort. It will be marked "Internal" and runs all day long. Every bus stops at HH before exiting the resort, so any bus will take you there and the "Internal" bus comes by about every 20 minutes all day.

We always stay in the Turtle Pond area. When I want to go to the HH, I jump on the very first bus that stops ----- always asking to be sure that the driver is planning to stop at the HH (one time a driver didn't, and people were screaming for him to stop, but that only happened once).

When I'm ready to go "home", I walk out of Olivias, and follow the canal toward the main road. After I cross the road, turn left and the first bus stop is a few feet down. It's probably a 3 minute walk from Olivia's. Get on the first bus and it will stop at all the other bus stops and quiet pools.

Walk -- it is a lovely resort to enjoy on foot. Otherwise the internal bus advice you have received from others is probably the next best option.

I agree ! It's really no different than the amount of walking one would do, say, at BWV all around the boardwalk to the different shops/restaurants etc. I think the walk from the furthest OKW building to Olivia's or the Hospitality House is about 10-15 min. We had about a 60 second walk from our room to the HH and main pool this past Nov. But as many suggested, the bus system will get you to where you want to be if you'd rather not walk. Have a great stay !!! I'll be there in less than 60 days !

Golf carts, that is a great idea. I wonder if Disney ever considered that. They have golf carts for rent at the FW campground and used to have them at the old Downtown Disney Villas/Treehouse villas. We have rented them when we stayed at the FW cabins and they are a lot of fun. The kids love them and they are great for getting around the resort.

It would be a cool idea, I agree. But if I'm not mistaken, I don't believe cars are allowed in the internal network of the FW resort, whereas, at OKW, cars are allowed. Golf carts for general use at OKW might cause increased traffic on the resort grounds or even safety issues for those using the carts.
