Does anyone have a floor plan of an OKW dedicated two bedroom? The member site has the floor plan for a two bedroom lock-off. Just curious about the difference.

The differences are in the second bedroom: no balcony, no kitchenette (another bathroom sink instead), no separate entrance (a walk-in closet instead).

As stated before the floor plan is almost the same, no direct exit to hall or balcony from 2nd BR though...however the extra closet space and the additional sink outside the bathroom come in quite handy when you travel with a herd of teenage girls like we always do!!

Is that also true for the Villas at Wilderness Lodge? Just occurred to me that my parents might want their own kitchenette...

At VWL, in the lockoff the 2nd bedroom would be a queen and a double sofabed, where a dedicated would be 2 queens. Same at SSR. At BCV, some of the dedicateds have 2 queens, some have 1 queen and 1 sofabed (as do all lockoffs). BWV has no dedicated.

Thank you for the replies guys. I can vaguely remember that at one point Disney had a sketched floor plan for both types of two bedrooms at OKW. But I guess that's gone with the wind or I am mis-remembering.

But with your discriptions, I can visulize what the difference would be.

Is there still a second full bathroom in the dedicated two bedroom?

::yes::
The second bathroom is the same as in a non-dedicated 2 bedroom.

When you look at the 2 bedroom floor plans, everything is basically the same in a dedicated 2 bedroom except that the door to go out into the hall and the door to the balcony are missing. Without needing a door to the hall, that space can be used for an extra closet. The place for the kitchenette is still there, it's just not kitchenette.

Thank you Sue. Originally this coming spring, we were going to have an all girls trip at OKW. But now may have to add one guy to the mix. As long as there is a separate area for the bathroom, that should not be a big deal.

Just to throw this into the mix... We stayed at OKW for the first time this last trip (wonderful resort, wonderful time). We had a dedicated 2 bedroom and while the space was amazing compared to what we had become used to at VWL, BWV and BCV, the lack of a different door to gain entrance to the main bathroom could have been a problem.

All rooms we've previously stayed in (1br & 2br) had a door access to the main bathroom where the toilet was from the living room area. This room at OKW did not and one had to enter the Master Bedroom, walk through the jacuzzi/sink area and into the the shower/toilet/sink room. It didn't present a problem for us as we had no one sleeping on the living room couch this time, but I could see that being a little inconvenient for someone sleeping in the living room to gain entrance to the toilet while not disturbing those in the master.

I don't think this is true of all dedicated 2 brs at OKW just an interesting twist from what we'd experienced before.

Isn't the door missing in the buildings numbered 30 and lower? Then the others 31 and higher have the laundry room door to the bathroom.

Deb & Bill - could be, we were in building 21. We even said, it'd be nice if there was a door from the laundry room into the bathroom, but I guess this might have cut into some of the closet space in the main bathroom area?

Thank you MLK-RI, I did stay in a one bdrm. lock off at OKW and it did have the door into the bathroom from the laundry. I think it was on Turtle Pond Rd, Building 32, so Deb & Bill are most likely correct. I think I had read that in another thread at some point.

If I get a lower building number it shouldn't be a huge problem for us either. We are a group of adults and if we have to pass through the Master Bedroom while someone is sleeping, we will just have to be quiet. But it is a good fact to know.:)

The door into the master bath from the laundry room was not in the first stage of OKW that was built - I believe that the first stage was the first 30 buildings, but there are quite a few people here who know for sure. I know the buildings numbered greated than 30 DO have the extra door.
The bathroom itself is exactly the same except that instead of door next to the sink, there is a blank wall. No difference in the storage space.

From the laundry room, the door into the bathroom is straight ahead from the door to get into the laundry room from the hall.

Ah, that's good to know; my parents would take the 1 queen with the sofabed over the two beds any day-more floor space for the two of them.

I'll have to call back on tuesday and ask for a lockoff rather than a dedicated...

Thanks very much-when people tell me I'm an expert on Disney, I always say that no, but I know where the experts ARE!
