Which buildings would one want to avoid at OKW for noise issues with the busses? Thanks!

I was in studio in building 56 once and it was terrible. My balcony was right on the street and the buses were constant and loud.

We had OKW booked and I was constantly hearing people complain about this issue there. They say turtle pond is quiet because the buses don’t go around the loop, but geez I don’t want to take a bus to the main pool. So we switched to SSR preferred. It was the only 2 choices because we booked late in the game. My cousin sent me a video of their room and there was a bus every few minutes and a stop sign. They were laughing in the video because it was ridiculous. The screeching brakes and then bus acceleration literally every couple minutes. Then golf carts. They couldn’t move rooms because they were booked so somehow she got her points refunded, checked out and they moved to the all stars on cash.

So far building 22 was the quietists OKW buildings we have stayed in. Unfortunately most buildings will have noises from buses and golf carts.

We had a studio in building 14 once, and it was terrible. Constant bus noise. But, I think studios could have noise in other buildings. I would not want to stay in a studio in any building where the buses used the parking lot as a turnaround. The way the doors on the studios open to the parking lot can make for lots of noise.

I love OKW but being a light sleeper bus noise can be a major issue here- even at Turtle pond if you are near the roundabout.
Buses at SSR are much further away and the resort is quieter.
Many rooms at OKW are very quiet so it is luck of the draw.
If you go on Google Earth on the resort avoid any buildings on the main road, near a roundabout or main traffic route, or a junction. If you hover the cursor over the building on Google it tells you which ones they are for requests.
However, given requests are not often given, if you are noise sensitive and do not want to take the risk, SSR may be a better choice.

Last time we were in Building 54-VERY quiet, and DH is also a light sleeper.

Last year we were there for two weeks and stayed in a one bedroom in building 11, I couldn't believe how quiet it was. At first, we were like man, we're stuck over here in the parking lot corner, but we soon came to enjoy that building, really didn't even encounter much foot traffic with other guests back and forth to the Hospitality house to grab things. We're heading down for two weeks again in December and will try to call member services to request that spot again.

We stayed in building 27 earlier this month and it was a great location. Super quick walk to HH, never heard the buses at the Peninsular Rd bus stop at all inside the unit. We did hear the boat horn ever so faintly but only when we didn't have the TV on and it was quiet in the unit. It wasn't bothersome at all. I would certainly request this building again.

Part of problem with some buildings at OKW one part of the building is right next to the road and the other end is 200 feet away. So if you are on the end close to the road it is noisy and the other end is quiet. Generally studios are place at the end of the buildings for most at OKW. So usually the noisiest rooms are studios.

Wow. I came to ask a similar question. I can't seem to find the information on where the turnarounds are....we live in the country so very sensitive to road noise when sleeping. I know its luck of the draw but I would like to know so I can at least put in a request to avoid the louder turnaround areas. Tia

Look on Google Maps and hover the mouse pointer over the buildings. It’s tells you which they are. Then put in a request for as many buildings as possible away from junctions, roads and roundabouts. Domt be greedy and request one closer to the Hospitality house, give them as many choices as possible.
Or switch to Saratoga if you can which is a much quieter resort.

Ditto with Building 63. Our studio was right next to where the buses come through the security gate. It was the only time noise has been a factor in any room I've had at any resort. We were only there for one night before moving to the Poly Villas or I would have inquired about switching rooms. It was that bad. I had a quieter stay at Pop Century during Pop Warner week!

100%. I've never had a noisy one-bedroom at OKW, but have had noisy studios.

I think you may have found the solution. We've stayed in a 1 BR in building 63 and even though DH is a very light sleeper, he never heard bus noise.

So what areas or buildings are on the quieter side if one was to book a studio? Especially wanting a ground floor studio?
