Are the boats to DS running? Also how is the quick service at this resort? Thanks!

As far as I know, there is still no Disney Springs boat service.
(Disney springs entry requires a temp check, so I’m guessing that doesn’t help the cost side of resuming bot service)

No boats from either OKW or SSR to DS. With temp and security checks now going on at DS, they’re not going to invest to have these at all the boat launches at DS for the handful of people that are on a boat at any given time.

Goods To Go is the quick service at OKW. It is OK. It is small. The pastries are good. You can’t mobile order there, but you can at Olivia’s. We really like Olivia’s.

It would seem to me that they could use the boat launch that's near SSR. This would handle the temp screening since you would walk in through that gate where the temp screening is already set up.

I'm sure the costs of boat fuel, more regular maintenance/insurance, and staff/captains are all factored in, same as with the Epcot monorail. When hotel occupancy increases to much higher levels, we ought to see a return to prior transportation options, including more of the resort-to-destination boats. At least, I really hope so. They're a highlight of our visits.

Legit transportation costs like fuel should be covered by the member dues transportation line item.
Since they are not running the boats, they either: didn’t think of @MI_firefighter ‘s great idea of using the east side dock or DVC decided to helpful and avoid some transportation cost increase (since they are running more busses due to social distancing) or Disney Springs boat service was subsidized by Disney Springs, and they don’t want to pay for it due to their reduced capacity/revenue.

Maybe when POR/POFQ reopen, DS capacity increases, and use of the Resort-to-DS bus transportation increases, they'll resume boat service. We've taken bus shuttles to DS several times since October 2020 and we've been the only people onboard every time, even when DS seems to be at full (limited) capacity and they've closed parking garages/lots. Perhaps more people are driving to WDW (and DS) and not using Disney's mass transit? I'm guessing that DS is visited more heavily by locals who drive their own cars and want to be outside at DS than by hotel guests who want to maximize theme park time.
