Hi- we are staying at OKW in a studio for 5 nights in March. DH and I will be staying for the first time at this resort on my brother's points. After doing a bit of research, I am thinking of requesting building 46 or 45. I know requests are not guarenteed. I was looking for a nice view, peaceful quiet spot not too far from a bus stop. with a decent view ( think there is the canal by these bldings?) This will be our first tithere as a couple without children and don't mind having to walk a little to main hospitality house. Just want a quieter spot with a pretty view. Do you think this is a good reuest or do any of you have other suggestions? We have a non hospitality house booking.
Thanks. :lovestruc

I think that's a great request for what you are looking for. But it may be difficult to get as they are popular buildings, and there are only 8 studios between the two buildings (4 studios in each building).

I just read a thread on the "Mousealaneous" section. Two people who stayed in building 45 and 46 complained about bus noise. So just a heads up.

We stayed in building 33 last time and it was amazing. You are right by the bus stop, and we really didn't notice any noise.

Kat913, I've owned at OKW for more than 2 decades and can tell you that you will most likely have some sort of nice view, especially if you are not on the ground floor. (vegetation is quite lush at OKW) Most of the views at OKW are either golf course or water views of some sort and are quite lovely. I personally prefer not to be too close to a bus stop as those villas can get a little bus noise at certain times. There are bus stops scattered throughout and you will never be terribly far from a bus stop.

Thank you so much for the quick responses. I will have my brother call and enter requests for me. An upper floor will also be a request ( I hate being on ground level - always seems bugs are worse and as southerngirl pointed out better views. :) )

I made the mistake of asking for ground floor Studio once, and got it. The bushes by the balcony blocked the view, and along side the balcony was the heating/AC units. Fortunately, there was a problem with the room and I got upgraded to a 1 BR on a second floor. Never again will I ask for a lower floor.

I generally don't like anything right along the main drag Peninsular Road because I tend to think it's a bit noisier....although nothing is unbearably noisy at OKW IMHO. I prefer the Southpoint area.

I found when the resort is more full the buses are more frequent and you hear all of it on the first floor but none of it on the second floor

Many of the studios at OKW have views that are blocked by the vegetation. We were on the third floor of building 35 and couldn't see much.

Yes, I have read on these boards others saying their studio was blocked by vegetation. Anybody have experience from a canal view bldg like 45 or 46 in a studio? Can you actually see the canal? Or bldg 55 maybe?

The studios are on the ends of the building so there is a very good chance the view will be blocked by vegetation. Plus they will get to view the AC units.

any trouble getting luggage to hospitality house for checkout/magical express? we are staying there in feb/march and I'm really nervous to be away from the hospitality house. first time at OKW, studio. it looks HUGE.
