Thanks to Wayne on these boards went to OKW last October and loved it so much...we want to book to go there again this October

2 Questions for the in the know -please

1) Is it still best to book for a 10 day stay at OKW through the UK site or does the US site offer good offers?

2) blimey- flight prices have gone up - what are people generally doing in order to keep prices down?

Thanks!!:confused3

Glad you enjoyed it. So did we, booked again for this August, staying there 21 nights:cloud9:

Disney.co.uk are doing free dining at OKW and big discounts if you buy a minimum of 5 day tix.

Disney.com might offer something nearer but not now.

Just compared 10 days on the 2 sites. Based on 2 adults and 2 children age 8.

.co.uk incl free Dining plan and 14 day tix(same price as 5 day tix) Total Price £1,896.00

.com room only (no DDP & no tix) Grand Total (includes tax) $3,712.50 (£2,410)
To get a similar package on .com (incl DDP & incl 10 day MYW tix) Total: $6,204.62 (£4,028)

Just shows how good the UK offer is and why I have rebooked. As I said possibly offers to come on .com but not worth the wait IMO.

Sorry I did sample quotes for 2 X 8 year olds, just seen you have their ages in your sig, could have been accurate, will only make a few £ more expensive on ticket price.

Flights, they are a nightmare this year, for August we would have liked to go Virgin Direct from Manchester but they started around £700-800 and increased almost every week until they peaked at over £1300 a few week ago, ended up booking Business class Delta Elite for £1,170pp, no way was I paying economy prices.
Good luck searching for Oct.

Cheers Wayne, much appreciated

Thanks looks like the UK is the one for the deal. My family absolutely loved it there!..particularly having the run of the 2Br villa. We also did AKL - as nice as that was they missed the space of OKW - particularly the freedom they had to accessorise their rooms.

The flights are ludicrous - best so far is direct to Miami with AA for £2200 for the 4 - same flights last year cost us £1500 :(

Cheers

the UK site always has a better rate for OKW during free dining....and not just better, it completely blows the US rate to smithereens....
the US rate never even comes close to the UK free dining rate....

i guess disney feels they have to make it cheaper for brits, since it costs so much more to fly from the UK than inside the US...

also, they know that brits like to stay in villas, so by bringing down the price of OKW during free dining, they hope to entice some brits onsite.....and hopefully to convert them....as apparently happened with Wayne... :)

Yep! We are off siters to the hilt but the offers for this summer (SSR) have tempted us onsite for the first time...

:goodvibes

October flights from Heathrow - Miami still seem to be available at not ridiculous prices (I rechecked our dates and prices seem similar to a few weeks ago), so if Orlando looks prohibitive, the Miami option might be worth a look.

Slightly OT and sorry to hijack but...

I was rummaging on the uk website and noticed there is nothing OKW left for early August and only one bedroom for SSR.

If I have done it correctly then it looks like the offer has been very successful??

Booked

Now need to track down those flights.....Looks like Miami at £2200 for the four - it sure does sting that last year that cost me £1500

Wayne, the price you kindly mentioned in your email was £1896 - I realise this was for 2x8 yo but did that include the park tickets?

I'm quoted £2800 (for 9 days now - school issues!)

It was incl tix but only in a studio, you then put in post #4 you prefer something bigger.

2 bed villa should be Total Price £2,802.00
Studio Total Price £1,812.00

Once you've had the run of the 2BR its tough to go back!

Doesn't bother us thankfully, stayed in a 2 bed condo in 2008, just used the bedroom, never used the living area, kitchen just used the fridge for ice.
21 nights in a studio is costing us £2,100, a 2 bed villa would be £3,969, glad a studio is big enough.

..that is a big saving - almost pays for the ludicrously expensive flights!
