OKW - availability for one bedroom at four months out for May?

I won't get my 2003 vacation okayed through work until the first week of January. My question - we want a one bedroom at Old Key West for the middle of May. Should I wait until January to schedule it? We are going to borrow some points to make this reservation.

If I have to tweak my days for May (say the boss says, no, you need to go the next week) how hard do you think it would be to switch a one bedroom reservation around at Old Key West at around four months out until the trip?

I think your chances are pretty good for the middle of the month. I've gone the beginning or middle of May the past 3 years and had no problem getting a 1 bedroom at 7 months. It usually isn't busy around that time.

This year we booked a 1 BR at OKW (our first stay there and LOVED it) for Fri, Sat, and Sun about 2 weeks before our trip. Good luck!

You shouldn't have any problem.

We usually have taken 1 week in May and 1 week in Sept. and have never had a problem getting our vacation home booked. We usually called around January too. I think it's a slow enough time of the year that you probably won't have a problem.

You should have no problems. May along with September and January are the slowest times down there.
