We are staying for the first time at OKW. We normally stay at VWL. Does OKW have outlets for lights outside a studio? What do you decorate for Chrstmas in a studio there? Help, please.

Lots of folks decorate at OKW for the whole month of December. Not sure about the studio portion though, since we don't stay in them, and usually do not have a lock off either, so I haven't checked that out. I am sure someone will know though.

There is an outlet on the balcony of the studios. You can string lights along the railing there if you like.

I've gotten arrangements from the DVC Florist to bring some "Christmas" into the room. They usually have something nice that includes a "take home" candleholder with Mickey (or something along those lines). Many people also bring along small tabletop trees.

PamOKW , Thanks for the info ! VWL does not have outlets outside. I was hoping others would. Thanks again!

Be sure to bring an extension cord. (Guess how I found that out. )

the first year we went to OKW in early dec we packed tree, lights etc and decorated inside and out. It was great, but a pain to lug all that stuff. Now we go to the super walmart once we arrive, pick up a cheap tree and lights .. ususally doesn't cost more than $20. and saves the back! We string lights on the proch and have a table top tree in the living room. We also pack a small CD clock radio..and bring along christmas CD's. Very relaxing and festive! We love coming "home" after dark at OKW during December..the place is aglow with holiday lights.... Just like a real family neighborhood!

when we leave we give the tree to bell services. When we drove away last year we chuckled as the bell staff had placed the tree on the out side bell stand and the lights were lit. Glad it brought them a little holiday cheer too.

enjoy!

The first year we bought into DVC (2000) we did not use our points for Christmas but stayed at the Music. (I know, what where we thinking) Anyway we ordered a tree from the WDWFlorist. It was $200 and I have to tell you just MADE our Christmas. We shipped it home (cost $17) and still use it to remember our Disney Christmas.

For those of you wondering what it looked like it was about 4 ft tall, had lights and about 12 Disney Beanie babies on it.

We were at OKW for Christmas week 2002. We brought a 2 foot artifical pine tree and decorated it with white lights and some disney ornaments and our disney tree skirt. On the back porch we ran a string of white icicle lights that we were able to plug in outside. In the 2 front windows we also hung white lights and were able to plug them in also.

Christmas in Disney was magical and I hope to do it again. We are going during Thanksgiving this year and hope to see the beginning setups in the Kingdom.

Have a Joyous and Magical Christmas in Disney :D

We spend either the first or second week in December in a one bedroom, this year we have a 2 bedroom! We string lights around the balcony, bring a small tree, & a wreath for the front door! It makes for real nice Holiday atmosphere, we have done this for 10 years now, you can't find a happier place to start the holidays!!!

We are going to be at OKW from 11/30-12/6. Although it is just a short stay, I was wanting to bring some holiday cheer from home. My husband thinks I'm crazy I'm glad to see there are others out there like me:D Anyway, a string of lights (and an extension cord;)) will fit nicely in my suitcase. For those of you who bring wreaths and such, do you fly or drive? We will be flying down and don't think I wouldn't try packing a tree and a wreath. . .

Thanks,
-Sherri

After reading this I am thinking I may ship some decorations to OKW to be there for me. I am doing the three night crusie first so I don't want to carry them on the cruise.
