We are staying at OKW 4/9 to 4/16 in a two bedroom. This is our first trip as DVC using larger than a regular hotel room. We are extremely excited. I have a couple questions. Is is warm enough to go swimming in the pools at this time? We are from Cinti. In the morning it is below freezing by evening it is 50 degrees. I need weather advice for FL. Is there a grocery close? we are planning on cooking at the unit several times. Do the units have grills? If not, can you get a grill from MS? Thanks

Swim away, because weather should be in the 80's!

Yes there are grills available in all the pool areas. There are 4 pools at OKW, so there will be one within walking distance. We usually end up using the broiler in the oven rather than make the treck to the grill.

There are a number of "grill areas" around the resot (usually near the quiet pools) but I think there may be restrictions on grilling on your porch (due to fire hazards). I've seen many people who buy disposable grills from the supermarket and use these in the grill areas instead of using the permanant ones that are set up there, given that not many people seem to bother cleaning the grills after they use them, IMHO this is a sensible option.

The pools are usually heated in the colder weather, but I don't think you're going to have too much trouble in April. Last couple of days it's hit 80 degrees down here and has been prety warm, cooled down a touch today and tommorrow ( mid 70s) , I would expect it's going to be in the 80s when you're here.

Grocery wise you have a number of options. The resort store does sell a number of basics (milk, OJ, cereal and general groceries) but is pretty expensive. The nearest full service supermarket is in the Crossroads plaza, about 5 minutes drive from OKW. This used to be a Goodings (and was relatively expensive) but I believe it has changed to a Winndixie ( that I haven't used), cheaper and a little further away (on the junction on 535 and 192) is a large Publix that is a similar quality to Goodings but significantly cheaper) I'd guess this is about 10 minutes drive. As you come along SR 535 (Apopka Vineland road) and just before you come to the T junction with the 192 it is in the plaza on your left hand side.

The average high for that time period is 83.8 and the average low is 60.3, swimming is great that time of year. There is far less rain also than in the summer. :sunny: :sunny:
