Can someone tell me what places there are to eat at OKW and are they any good?

Old Key West has only one, full-service restaurant - "Olivia's."

It serves B, L & D, and it's reputation on this board has improved over the last few years - though we've eaten there since we bought back in 1997 and have never had a bad meal.

There's also a counter-service around the corner - "Goods Food to Go" that has the standard hot dog, hamburger fair... I've also heard you can pick up items from the Olivia's menu here, as well - though I don't know this "first hand."

There's also a counter over at the pool at Turtle Krawl that's open only seasonally - with a very limited menu...

OKW has one full service restaurant (Olivia's Cafe), Good's Food To Go (snackbar) and The Turtle Shack (snackbar). There is also a small lounge (the Gurgling Suitcase).

We always make a point to dine at Olivia's on each trip and have enjoyed our times there. Over the years, the menu has changed a little and the chef staff has changed- so there have been some changes (some good/some not so) from time-to-time. On our last stay 2 weeks ago, we had a great meal and we always enjoy the atmosphere.

Enjoy!

We also love Olivia's for breakfast... usually eat in the room, but have to treat ourselves at least once each trip!

Good's food to go was one of our suprise "Great Value" meals on our 12/01 trip - we got a burger and fries with a drink for about $6, and the food was excellent.

We were less pleased with the Pizza delivery offered at OKW - it was some of the worst pizza we had ever had... it also inspired me to create a "travel spice box" with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, etc. for our DVC trips. That poor pizza was desperate for some flavor, and I would have given anything to spice it up!

Olivia's is also one of our faavorites.

Many recent posts to this site have provided very positive reviews of the current menu.

OKW is also close to lots of "offsite" eateries. The Crossings area is no more than five minutes by car (just beyond Downtown Disney) and has Pizzeria Uno, McDonalds, Perkins, Olive Garden and others. Local pizza places, like Papa John's and Pizza Hut, will also delier to OKW -- I am sure of this because I accosted the Pizza Hut man in the parking lot last July!

Downtown Disney also has lots of places to eat. You can take the ferry there, take a bus, or even walk. And if you want to stay put, Olivia's really does seem to have something for everyone. We ate there a lot last visit, and everyone from Grandpa to the kids to my fussy husband was happy. The servers are so nice and the atmosphere is fun, and the menu ranges from chicken and fish to burgers, sandwiches and steaks.

Ate at Olivia's last week. The meal was great but dessert was not so good. Dh had his usual burger and fries and I ordered the chicken with mashed taters and veggie. It was EXCELLENT! We both ordered a brownie sundae and the brownie was hard and really not that good. The ice cream and topping, well, how could you ruin that? The lunch prices are really good and DVC'ers get 10% off. Our waitress was very nice and the atmosphere very relaxing. First time ever there and it was the highlight of our stay there.

I see you are coming from Oregon so you may not have a car. In that case there is Olivia's which has made some improvements and I would say is ok for breakfast and lunch. The boat ride will take you DD where you will find a number of places to eat. If you wish you can walk down to the West Side from OKW and find some restaurants there. Also you can take a bus to DD, cross the street and walk to the Hilton which is right on the corner, they have 3 restaurants there that are good also.
