I'm trying to get a feel for whether or not ECV users who request first floor get it at OKW, and especially whether the fact that they do or don't request the HH area affects the chances, and if so, by how much. Also, I'm interested in OKW's response if someone who has an ECV doesn't get the first floor they requested. Did they move you as soon as one such room opened up? Please explain.

The problem is that it's a request. I'm sure it's one they'll try their best to accommodate, but it's not guaranteed. Maybe you check in a day when few 1st rooms are vacated and there are more guests with ECV than available places.
The question for you is: even if 99% of times people get it, what happens if you don't?
Maybe it's not worth the risk and better to book SSR, which has elevators in every building and it's easy to book.

We don't need an "accessible" room, but did request first floor so we would be able to easily move an ECV in and out of the room when we stayed in a 1BR at OKW near HH. Our request was granted.

If they weren't able to give us a first floor room, my wife would have been able to take the stairs, but it would have been a bit of a strain for her (also, I would have been disassembling and reassembling the ECV multiple times a day and carrying the parts up the stairs, so I was very glad we were able to get first floor).

I just got back from a stay at OKW. I had a HH 1 bedroom and and requested a first floor room as my knees are shot from playing soccer. I got a 2nd floor HH room, but talked with the front desk and they were able to switch me to a 1st floor room in building 62 which is technically not HH, but very close. I loved that location and I got awesome picts of the Epcot fireworks from our balcony.

I have stayws at OKW with some major family reunions many times since 1994. This last trip in January was the first time I got near the hospitality house and had an ECV for a two bedroom unit. We didn't get the first floor but it was OK. I had 3 rooms, a 3 bedroom and (2) 2 bedrooms and they were not really near each other. I think this will work much better if near HH is not selected.

That's kind of what I'm thinking about, but I feel guilty since we don't need the HA features, just first floor.

We stayed at OKW HH area for our arrival night a few weeks ago in a 2BR lockoff. When I called member services to place a request I said first floor because my wife uses a scooter and doesn't do well with stairs. Our flight was late and our Friday night 11:30 PM arrival time turned into 1 AM Saturday Morning but still had a first floor. They took us and our luggage to our room via a bell services van and I picked up the scooter Saturday morning around 9AM when I went over for the quick service breakfast to take back to the room before we checked out.
