We are brand new members and will be staying at OKW in November for our first stay at a DVC resort. I have grown up going to Disney since 10/71 but am not at all familiar with DVC.
I have spent a good deal of time reading many posts and have seen mentions of kids activities at OKW. Can someone please elaborate? On our trip will be myself, DH, DS 5 , DD 7 and my parents.

One more question, since we are driving, should we bring our own bikes?

okay my list are at work so this is pretty much from memory.

activties - you can make things and colors others.

there is a little autography dog. As well as a bunch of other stuff I don't remember.

all the activities are done in the community hall.

okw has bikes to rent. but the bikes aren't surpose to leave okw property.

When you check in, you will be given an info packet, which includes a calendar of 'Hank's Happenings' - Hank runs the Community Hall. There are different activities each day, either in or around the Community Hall or at the pool. Things for all ages, and usually free (some crafts cost a couple of dollars for supplies). My kids love just doing whatever they like - there's pool, table hockey and all kinds of movies to choose from in Community Hall, or they can play ping pong, basketball, beach volleyball, or tennis for no charge - just sign out the equipment. Great resort, wonderful atmosphere, our favourite place to go home to - we'll be there in 34 days!

We were there in March with our kids, DD2 and DS5. Each day around 20am or so, they had a craft--make flip flops, hats, beach tote. Lots of pool activities, bingo, dance contests. In the game room there is an air hockey table, coloring table, movies to rent (free for DVC members), computers. It's a great place for the kids to take a break from the pool or on a raining day. Bikes to rent and small boats to rent as well. My kids loved it! We stayed at BCV and they have an arcade room but nothing like the activity room at OKW. Enjoy!

Some of the highlights of last year's OKW vacation included a water balloon contest with the kids and parents, pool games (a cannonball jumping contest brings back memories!lol), and the unbirthday party.

The kids also liked visiting communinty hall and renting (free) board games. OKW has a good list of different activities for the week for kids. Have fun!

When we were there in April they also did Bingo by the pool and there were prizes to choose from.
