I would think your chances would be better than average during that time period. If you call at exactly the 7month window I'm going to say there's a 70% you'll get it.
The option of trading your BCV points for OKW points has become really complicated with the new transfer rules in place, you can only transfer once a use year, so there would be no way to transfer in the OKW points and transfer out the BCV points in the same use year. The "easier" approach, if you want to call it that, would be for you to find an OKW owner who needs a BCV reservation, make that for them and have them make the OKW reservation for you. And remember the 11 month booking window for May 08 is 30 days away.
If it was me, I would just take my chances calling at the 7 month mark, the beiginning of May is not as quite as hard to get as many other times. Good Luck.
