 Made final payment today so it's a go! Not that I had any intention of cancelling though I wasn't sure if DS17 would actually commit this time. He said yes in April and paid for his own airfare (all three kids paid their own air in order to go) but he's been a bit of a "teenager" lately and I really thought he'd decide NOT to go and take the loss rather than be stuck in a hotel room with us for four nights, lol:eek: .

Just a side note: I called the AAA office myself today as I had it marked as "final payment -- 45 days". I asked them if they had intended to notify me or send me an invoice. She said that it usually??? happens but that the woman who set up the trip in April was out on maternity. So, don't know if I wouldv'e lost my Free DDP package or not had I not called. Then she said that my final payment wasn't due until Monday. Huh? Maybe I didn't count right but we are booked at POP 9/1-5.

Anyways, time to get really excited. I've got my ADRS and I'm sticking to em. Well, maybe if the girls don't relent on the CM thing I might change my mind but I'm thinking not especially now that DS is coming. The three of us have all been to Boma before but he hasn't and he's the one with the real adventurous appetite.

See you there!

Good for you! We just got back last week from our trip. And my DD age 16 still loves to go to Disney. She especially loves to hang out at the resort. We usually hit the parks in the a.m., then return to the hotel for naps/pool time. But I worry that the day will come when she no longer wants to go with us. (Of course, she kept her cell phone with her at all times and was busy sending/receiving text messages all week!!!)

Lucky for you. My DS17 has foregone the last three (yes I said 3) trips and I was really hoping he would go this time. It could be our last trip together as a family, you just never know. Within the next year he will most likely be joining the military:sad2: (or college if things go my way but it doesn't look good, lol). His schedule with school and sports is just crazy and he also has a "Full-Time" girlfriend that he needs to keep happy:rotfl2: It's so funny that you mention cell phone because I was going to ask him to limit his calls while we are away. I just can't imagine trying to fight for his attention all day and night while he's talking on the phone but we'll see, I might just be happy that he's standing in line with us. He has been a real handful lately and I think we desperately need this time together to mend things a bit before the stress of the school year sets in again. I wonder if he's agreed to go because he'll be missing the first few days of school? I knew he absolutely would not miss any football captain practices, camp, or games and this was the only time I could find that would not interfere with that. Of course, he'll be missing two practices but after 15 consecutive days of practice I'm hoping the coach will forgive ME:rolleyes: or maybe we'll have a "family emergency" -- Jacob and I haven't discussed this yet. He knows the coach better than I do so I'll leave it up to him.

We took our 12th trip to WDW this past June. Our daughter, 19, decided she didn't want to go. Every year she is a counselor at our church's children's summer camp. In 2006, she arrived home from children's camp two days after we were already in WDW. So, we flew her to Disney to join us. This June, she would be arriving home from church camp the day before we were set to drive to WDW. She said she would be too tired to come and she had already been to WDW 11 times. So....she decided to forego the June, 2007 trip.

Let me tell you....she called us at least once a day to see what we were doing and where we were. My husband was worse than our daughter. He would call her at least twice a day to give a report. We were having a good time but were sad because she wasn't there to share the Disney vacation with us.

We took lots of pictures on our cell phone and sent them to her so at least she could feel like she was there. I also took pictures of potential souveniers and sent them to her.

I already have our 2008 vacation booked (room only until packages come out) but it looks like she won't be coming along. She has been accepted to a Missionary college in Atlanta, Georgia and they go to school eleven months out of the year. If there is any way, whatsoever, we can get her there for even a few days, we're going to try it!
