Okay Thanksgiving is fast approaching

We will do the usual...We bring the kids to my parents house around 10:45am, then DH & I go to meet some friends for drinks. We return to my parents house around 1:00, have some munchies and then dinner is around 3:00. Theres usually about 13 of us.
My mother does most of the cooking however I make my homemade tomato sauce for the raviolis.

This is the holiday when my step-dad sees all of his daughters. We import my grandmother to cook and all get together at my parents. I am bringing rolls. :teeth: Someone has to kick off before I am bumped up the food chain - I am the second youngest out of the six kids. My brother brings the stuff for punch - he's the youngest. My entertaining days are a long way away. FIVE MORE TEACHING DAYS - Wa-HOO!!

Leaving for Branson on the 27th for a long weekend at Tablerock Lake. Having Thanksgiving Dinner at my Aunts house on the lake. Then shopping at the outlet malls starting Friday.

I'll be cooking for DH, myself, DD, son-in-law, and my granddaughter.. We won't eat until around 5 p.m. though because my DD has to work..

The menu is:

turkey
stuffing
mashed potatoes
gravy
peas
broccoli and cauliflower in cheese sauce
cottage cheese
deviled eggs
celery and cream cheese
cranberry sauce
dinner rolls with butter
pumpkin pie with whipped cream
Dutch apple pie

---------------------------------------------

We only have turkey ONCE a year, so I'm really looking forward to it.. DH doesn't eat any kind of fowl or fish though, so I'll cook a steak for him instead..

The rest of my family is going to Biloxi to gamble, so I'll be home alone with the dogs. .

Figure I'll just just stuff a turkey with Darvon and watch a lot of football. . ;)

:teeth:

Willy, you are nuts, LOL. :teeth:

Lady M will tell me on Wednesday, and remind Thursday morning.

Regardless, I will have to do some packing as I leave on Friday.

We're going to my brother's house for Thanksgiving dinner. We're having an early dinner this year, as I have to work the evening shift. We alternate holidays between my family and my DH's family, so it's fair.

We're heading to the Portofino Bay Hotel that morning for a few days, then on to Disney. Hopefully, we'll have a brunch buffet at a Portofino restaurant, like we did last year.

I get my dose of relatives at Christmas and Easter. :)

I normally have Thanksgiving and Christmas here for both sides of the family. It's usually one big get together.
This year Thanksgiving is at my sil's house out of town. She and her husband are doing everything for some reason. We were told we didn't have to bring anything.
I've already talked with my sister and Christmas is here like normal. I won't go as nuts this year with the holiday paper plates and all the food I normally fix, but they don't care. :) They will have to chip in for once. :teeth:

I just love Thanksgiving. Put a few pies together yesterday and froze them so I'm on the way. Will have 30-35 people - big family. Mom and DD will come over Weds afternoon when I get home from school and we'll start cooking like mad. We really have a good time. Mom will cook one turkey at her house and I'll do another one here. My neighbors are great and offer me the use of their ovens cause they're not here in winter. After dinner, we have a family tradition of taking a swim in the ocean. It's kind of neat to see the long string of people walking down to the beach all bundled up in the cold. My job is to take pictures and leave the ocean swimming to the younger set. Then it's back to the hot tub and what else...more food. Here's to a very blessed Thanksgiving to everyone.

THANKFULLY ;) we're going to my parent's for Thanksgiving & Christmas. I'm bringing some chessey broccoli casserole that she likes. I don't have to eat it, I just have to make it. There will only be 9 of us. 1 brother & family won't be there. :(

2 days after Thanksgiving, I'm having DD's 5th BD party and Mom's bringing potato salad. YUM!
