With the hours being cut staring Sept, there will be more time in evenings to do stuff outside of parks.
I think a comprehensive and rolling list of 'extra' activities to spend your time will help with planning.

HERE WE GO!
1. Mini golf @ Fantasia Gardens
2. LOTS of Disney Spring Shopping
3. Bocce Ball @ Riviera

Are they still doing movie nights at the resorts? Always thought the kids would like that but never wanted to “waste” a night in the parks.

I asked this question on the Resorts board, someone mentioned they had one set up at I think Riviera last week. So hoping they’re up and running for all resorts now

You can’t necessarily do it in the evening, but horseback riding and fishing at Fort Wilderness. The new barn was fun to visit as well.

I'm sure that not all of these things are still available thanks to Covid but when they become available...
Canoe rental at Ft. Wilderness. Archery at Ft. Wilderness. Campfire sing along at Ft. Wilderness.
Wagon ride at night in Ft. Wilderness.
Scavanger hunt at Kidani Village (ask at the front desk).
Tour of Wilderness Lodge.
Tour of Old Key West.
Hula lessons at Poly
Fire lighting ceremony in the evening at the Poly
Cookie decorating at Jambo House.
Monorail resort hopping.
Cupcake resort crawl.
Depending on the time of year and what resort you are at, there are tons of stuff available to do. The concierge desk usually has a list. We've needed to use them on many a rainy day visit. :-)

  • Are the tennis courts open? You can get equipment at the community halls.
  • Ping-Pong, pool, foosball and air hockey in the community hall.
  • Stroll around the resort and search for hidden Mickeys.
  • Pop some popcorn in the microwave and watch a movie on the lawn.
  • Bring a deck of cards, a jigsaw puzzle and/or small packable games.
  • Bring your Chromecast and stream a movie to watch.
  • Late-night swim in the quiet pool. No sunscreen required.
  • Get a workout in at the fitness center.

Are quiet pools open 24/7?

So when we were there at the end of July it was really up and down. We stayed at three resorts and they all had different stuff open and closed. They did all have movies at night available. Saratoga was the only one with a pool table available. They all had pools open but the posted hours at the quiet pools all said 11pm for close. Tennis courts were good to go but not sure if they were handing out equipment....we had our own. Motorized boats were not available (only available for the NBA).

Community Hall Events
AKV/AKL watch the savannas
Resort scavenger hunts not sure which ones has them (someone said Kidani but WL also has one not sure about others)

Going by a few posts, they are handing out equipment but it appears that you cannot take out board games as you could pre-COVID. This post was in regards to Kidani.
Last week, it was mostly trivia games. One or two CMs would stand with a microphone near one side of the zero entry.

They did:
- parks trivia
- movie trivia
- name the character based on the color palette card
- name the song, movie it is from, and character
- park attraction word scrambles

Community hall was open. Items could be checked out for foosball, tennis, pool, basketball, grilling, etc. No organized activities.

Save a fortune on eating out and cook meals for the family. We brought card and board games but by the time we had finished dinner and the kids had had some goofing around time, it was time for bed - the games never got used. Disney always has movies on the TV - we spent one night just watching whatever they were playing. Honestly, free time in Disney is a luxury. Sure, it would be nice if the parks were open later, but enjoy the down time.

Sit in your villa and read a book or watch television.

Now that's MY idea of evening activity!

Also, someone mentioned the Cookie Decorating at Jambo. The only one I know of at Jambo is at 1:00, not in the evening, at Boma. And unfortunately, Boma's not open.
