Okay - so its gonna be crowded this summer....

historically speaking...if the parks are closing at 6 some nights but one or 2 of your nights they are staying open until 8:30 with FIS scheduled but no SPectromagic....(following me here - lol)....

If they decide to extend the park hours because of crowds....

do you think they will extend the nights they are already open until 8:30 - possibly throwing in Spectro since they already planning on FIS anyway

OR

do you think they would be more likely to add a parade and extend the hours on a night that E-night is scheduled

OR

do think they would just extend a night that was originally slated to close at 6 and open it later and maybe throw in spectro and FIS?


Trying to plan my MK day and want to go on the day most likely to be extended and have a parade added. Trying to hedge my bets by asking........

I agree with nativetexan, you just never know. I've been there when they've extended hours, but didn't find out until I boarded the parking lot tram. They can do anything they want.

I've also been surprised upon arrival by the park hours the CM showed me at the front desk. I would actually check with the CM's each morning to see what the park hours are that day. Typically, unless there's a special event that day, MK is the only park that will fluctuate a lot this time of year, with MGM being the 2nd most likely to be altered.

Epcot and AK are pretty static, operating-hours-wise.

If I had to hazard a guess, I would say that it's not likely they would add a parade if the hours change close to the specific day, only because it's difficult to scramble that much staff on short notice. By this I mean that if today is June 25th, and they decide to extend the hours for July 1st, well that's less than a week away, so I doubt a parade would be put together last minute. But again, like everyone's saying, .... the ways of the mouse are a mystery sometimes!

Now, that said, I would say that if today (again June 25) they were to extend AUGUST hours, there's still plenty of time to adjust CM work schedules, so it would be possible for them to add something of that scale.

Who can say? I bet Minnie doesn't even get advanced notice on what MM's going to do

They did extend the MK hours last week, staying open until 10:00 many nights and presenting Spectromagic and the fireworks. On Thursday, when we were visiting the MK, it closed at 9:00 with no parade, but with fireworks scheduled. However, it was raining heavily anyway so the the parade would not have happened in any case. The crowds were moderately heavy, so I'm sure that is why the hours were adjusted.

I had expected earlier closing hours and had planned my itinerary accordingly. The other parks closed at the same times I had seen posted earlier.
