DD told me today that there was a good chance we wouldn't see Mickey on our upcoming trip to Disney, as he will probably be at his "Captain's Job" on the "Big Boat." I told her that he had that week off, but she was skeptical.

How DO you answer why the Disney characters may be in more than one place at one time? :rotfl:

It's the Santa's elves theory. He has helpers that dress like him so all the kids can get to know him. But the real one lives in the North Pole ("big boat")!

NOOOOOO!!!!!

Say it isn't so....

There is only 1 Mickey and only 1 (insert character name here). They use the pixie dust to get from ship to the shore. It's my story and I'm sticking to it. ;)

If you've ever seen Fantasmic you know Mickey is capable of getting around, in some amazing ways. Disney Magic that's the way I see it.

I see no reason that children can't know that the characters aren't real. Honestly I would have a problem with my son believing that a six-foot mouse is real.

Thanks, Sparx! Good answer (to all of the above). :wizard: :wizard:

My kids (3,6 and 9) know I spend a lot of time on the DIS boards and with TGM. I just tell them that I have done my research and I find out which parks the characters are going to be at when and that is how I decide what park to go to when.

:wizard: Just use the magic excuse. Unfortunately my DN knows they aren't real, she is absolutely terrified of the characters so we have to keep telling her they are just a person like us adults in her life.

LOL...I don't think my daughter EVER thought they were real....when she was 3 I was all excited saying "look look there is Mickey Mouse" when we were and she turned around and said "mommy, you know they are only people in costumes don't you".......

I pulled out the daytime parade schedules for MK, AK, and MGM and showed dd that all of the parades are at different times. The characters have *just enough* time to make it from one park to another so they can all be in the parades. :thumbsup2
