Made it sound like it was bad huh? Not so kids it was Awesome!!!
Okay Darlene and pin team, you done did good. Im sold Ill sign up for the next one as well, and maybe pin events are not dead after all. As to the rest of this thread it is my opinion based on the time I had at this event. Some may not see it as I did, but who cares what they think I ad an awesome time so there!!!!!!!
Well what can I say call me Mr. Negative if it can happen, it will happen. Well not tonight, tonight was perfect. I had the best time that I have had at any event. I mean it was fun.
We got there late, The Contemporary guards let us park with no questions asked, non of the usual you cant park here for the magic kingdom stuff we took the monorail to the event, and we messed up because we got there just as the park was letting out and hit head on traffic, me dressed as a doctor, Donna as a barmaid wench, Bob was little boy blue wearing Junes bathrobe and tube sock and later we found out going commando, and June looking like Paris Hilton. Boy did we get some strange looks. The best part was when I started yelling out of the way folks Doctor coming thru Hey it worked what can I say, the rest of the gang was gathered at Tomorrowland already.
The minute we got there the food was already set up, they had real gravy not barbeque sauce, RICE!!!! I got rice finally non sticky dead rice, real rice (Sorry Donna) They had chicken and roast beast sorry beef, and as soon as they ran out somebody was bringing more, bad time for me to start my diet. I did hear they ran out of coffee late into the evening, I dont drink the nasty stuff, so for me no big deal, I do know some people that exist purely for the adrenalin rush you get from the stuff so Im sure to some that was a biggie.
After the food we went to fantasyland, well they had entertainment everywhere, and it was good, I mean we got to watch the stage show beforehand, now mind you we were a small group compared to the happy haunts event, but there was not a lot of bumping and cramming we had lots of room to move around. They had music and dancing and you should have seen Liz (yes cute lovable adorable Liz) do the electric slide, Macarena and the Conga, that girl can dance. It was wild to see princes and princesses do the electric slide though.
Now I will say this, the hunt or chase quest or whatever that was that we were doing to find Cindys glass shoe to me was a waste of time, but the people in my group insisted on running around to try to find clues. They actually thought there would be some magic prize awarded at the end, all it was 4 teams trying to find the words Step, Moth, Er, and Wicked which spelled out Wicked Stepmother and she had the shoe. I think a lot of people thought it would be more and there would be prizes awarded at the end. I blew the whole thing off to meet with people, ride rides, and take pictures. Hey I met Jes and what an awesome person she is let me tell you.
Now I did hear of some people not being allowed to go into the castle to meet with Cinderella, because she was with some private group, and you had to know somebody in order to attend. I dont know what that was all about, but I hope it was a mistake, I thought we were the private group?
There was so much to do and so much to see, that if you blinked you missed something. They had coolers all over the park, inside there was soda, water, cold stuff. You turned around and poof there was dessert Red Velvet cake that was to die for, and poof there was Bob.
Character were all over the place for the kids, but there was so much to do that Mickey and Minnie were for a bit just standing around looking for somebody to take a picture with.
All the castmembers were friendly and happy to be there; they were joking and having a good time as well. Take a look at the picture of the pin team they are actually laughing and smiling.
The final show was pretty good as well, with a mini fireworks display at the end. When they were trying to figure out the clues, you know Moth, Er, Step, and wicked some guy in a doctor suit kept yelling Chickens, but who knows what that was all about.
The exit was well planned in advance, and it took us about 15 minutes to get out of the park. The parting gifts were a blown glass Slipper from Aribas Brothers, it came in a neat box with a little pillow. An Le 1000 Cinderella pin its square and on the back it says surprise pin, the final dessert was well I dont know as mine is somehow mysteriously missing, and all the people I ran into said they had an awesome time, but a few had issues as there always will be Im sure.
I have some pictures, and as you can see a lot of people dressed up for the event I have more pictures to post but AOLs FTP server is acting weird so as soon as they fix it Ill load the rest.
All in all I rate this event a 10 and all the members of my party gave it a 10 all well. These are some of the testimonial I got.
June I had a great time this was one of the best events I have been to
Donna They outdid themselves Darlene should be happy with what they did here
Bob Can we go home now, my butt is starting to itch something fierce
Patrick Are you really a doctor, cause I have this rash, and
Jennifer Youre cute Ed so what kind of a doctor are you?
Lori AKA Tink Ed you try to take another picture of my top and so help me
So you can see I was not alone in all seriousness, this was good gang. I know some were not pleased so Im sure had issues. If I know one thing its you will never please everyone 100% no matter what you do, but as for me Nice job, and see you in March.
Now some pictures there are a few so please wait for them to load .
