I'm planning on getting an Unofficial guide to help us with our Aug and Jan trip. Even though I've been lots of times and really feel like I know the parks well I like the extra info provided. What concerns me si there seems to be conflicting info on fast pass and park hours and parade times. When I get there will all the info be given as a handout too?? Will I officially know then or can times still change?? Thanks

When we were there in May the times changed sometimes daily it seemed. Mostly the opening and closing times changed. The parade stuff seemed to stay the same. Try not to worry. It will all work out. :)

Park closings can and do change. Check the Disney site park hours from time to time.

You can pick up a time sheet at any of the parks and resorts.

With regard to FastPass, the reason you may be seeing conflicting info is that they DO keep tweaking the system. You probably already know the basics--the kiosk will list current return time. Insert your park pass to receive FastPass ticket valid for the posted return time.

The part that they keep changing slightly is the time on which you can get ANOTHER fastpass. At this point, the time on which you can obtain another pass should be printed on the current Fastpass ticket you are holding. So, you don't even need to memorize the system--as soon as you get a FastPass ticket, look at the time that you can get another and plan accordingly.

At the very least, you will be able to get another FastPass just BEFORE you use the one you're holding. Best use of your time is to take advantage of this. For example, if you get a Rock N Rollercoaster FastPass with a 10:00-10:50 return time, by 10:00 you should be able to get another. Before you get in line for RNR, pop over to Tower of Terror and get a new pass. This type of system helps maximize your time. Most people don't realize that you can be holding two passes at a time.

I copied down all the hours from the official Disney site just before we left on our trip last year, and almost every day there was a difference between the official web site and what actually happened - opening times, closing times, parade times - so it's definitely worth re-checking once you arrive. Sometimes this works to your advantage, though, like the time a few years ago when they put on an extra showing of the Main Street Electrical Parade just before an E-night. There were 20 foot gaps between groups of people watching the parade and everybody had a viewing spot right up at the rope. It was almost eerie. That's something I don't expect to see again!
