Okay...Let me restate this! VWL, OKW, or SSR?

Hmmmm...earlier I posted about staying at the OKW...now these options have come up! VWL, OKW, or SSR. Woohoo! More decisions...we have the chance to stay at these resorts and can't decide! I think we need some help and some honest opinions here please! Tell me your experiences with these resorts...if you want to...any input is appreciated! Thanks all!

You can't go wrong staying at any of them. They are all great. They all have a special draw. Will your group spend a lot of time at DTD, really enjoy the club scene... stay at SSR.

Is MK your fav park, will you be making multiple trips to it ? The boat ride to MK sure beats taking the bus. Like great dining options, Artist Point at WL is first class.

Want a peacefull retreat from the parks ? OKW is amazingly quite. The rooms are a little larger,the points are less. Have a car ? You park at your front door rather then a remote lot.

This is just the tip of the ice burg. Best boating...stay at VWL. Into golf... OKW and SSR. Pools with slides.... VWL & SSR. Great Spa treatments.....SSR. Morning workouts in a great gym... VWL.

THERE IS NO BAD CHOICE.

I'd take OKW but it depends. If you have younger children and being close to MK is helpful, VWL might be better. I'm not that thrilled with SSR so it would be my last choice of the 3. Others will see it differently. If you will have a car, that will be more helpful at OKW than any others.

I'll tell you, I absolutely love VWL. When I stayed there, I missed being in the middle of the action and not seeing a whole lot of people, but I've quickly realized that is what makes the place so wonderful! It's relaxing, it's beautiful, it's perfect!

I posted on you're other thread about how much we love OKW. I also don't think you can go wrong with any of the 3 DVC resorts you mentioned.

A few of the reasons we love OKW though:

--largest DVC rooms
--very quiet & peaceful resort
--you can park in front of your DVC unit
--you are not "sharing" the pools with the resort guests

We always have a car, but feel the bus transportation in OKW is very efficient. We love the Turtle Pond area.

Can't answer about SSR, haven't stayed there. OKW is nice since it's larger rooms and less points. Also going right outside your door to your car is great. Need to drive or take a bus to any park.

VWL is nice, boat ride to MK, bus to everywhere else. Rooms are the standard cookie cutter layout as the other DVC (except OKW) except for some slight differences (I think SSR has the best layout since they keep learning what to change). More choices for onsite food and pool is much better.

From a booking standpoint, I would pick VWL...OKW and SSR should have no booking difficulties due to their size. But as your children age, I would think you might want to be closer to DD. I also love being on the water...so VWL would be a good pick for me. But the choice is yours.

I'd stay away from SSR because I hate seeing construction but if it doesn't bother you then give it a try since it's all brand new.

OKW- never stayed there but we toured it last trip. Very pretty but a sprawling resort, if you'll have a car it's a good choice because you may park right outside your building.

VWL- Haven't stayed there yet but we have stayed at the WL and loved it! We toured the VWL and it's a beautiful resort plus you get to watch the electric water parade every night which is so much fun. The boat to the MK is another plus and there's also a bus that drives over to the Transportation and ticket center so you can catch the monorail over to Epcot.

I say go with the VWL, it's wonderful.

OKW main pool will be under construction soon to add a slide. It will then have a life guard on duty once the slide is completed. It is very peaceful. You can take a free boat ride to downtown Disney. points are less. The resort is spread out so you could be a long walk to the main building. I think the popularity of this resort will increase once its slide is finished.

VWL, I like this resort as well as OKW. If you will be staying at the resort to dine, swim , boat or just lay on the beach, I would pick this over OKW. There is just one bus stop for everyone so you do not have to make a bunch of stops on the bus at the resort. You can also take a boat to Magic Kingdom. The pool has a slide but it is smaller than most. My 13 yr old was to old for it. The main pool is always to crowded.

SSR, I have toured this resort a little. You are able to walk to Downtown Disney from the resort. The rooms are very nice inside. I did not see the pool but others do not think it will be large enough. This resort is more points than OKW, but less than VWL. Nice view of DTD from some villas.

We stayed at VWL this year but I think almost everyone would have rather been at OKW.

I just had to make a similar decision yesterday. I wanted to add a couple of weekend studio nights to go up to our GV ressie in October. I had a choice of BWV, BCV, OKW and SSR. I really would have done VWL, but there was nothing there, so I chose SSR to check out the newest resort. If you have a chance to do VWL, I would take it, since that seems to be the most difficult DVC resort to get into.

I haven't been to VWL yet, but we are staying at OKW in December. However, we stayed at SSR in May of this last year and we really loved it. The only drawbacks to SSR (in my opinion) are the construction, the longer bus ride to MK and AK, and (in our experience) the unreliable bus transportation. Keep in mind, we were at SSR the week it opened, I am sure they have made great strides in re-working the bus routes and timing, so I would think the bus reliability would be much better than it was for us.
The pool at SSR is fantastic--not to be missed! The pull-out couches are the new foam kind and are FAR better than the older metal frame pull-outs. Everything is new and clean, which is very nice.
You can't make a wrong decision here, but my vote is for SSR.

Stay at VWL. It's gorgeous and not that easy to get into. OKW almost always has availability and SSR will be around for a long time.
