I have finally decided on either Poly garden view concierge or POR Riverside with dining for my July trip with DH, DD12, DS4,DN4. Which should I choose and why. :earsgirl: :earsboy: ::MinnieMo ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

I would go with the Poly concierge because everything would be at your finger tips. The volcano pool and beach are right outside your door, the lounge would be so convenient for a snack or drink for the kids, It is only a short distance to the food court. Just a boat ride to MK with the castle in sight the whole time. Monorail resort. Fantastic view of fireworks and castle from your resort. If you decide to splurge and upgrade to Lagoon View, you could sit on your balcony or even your bed and watch the fireworks. Huge room, queen beds and a daybed.

POR is a great resort, but really can't compare it to the Poly. The only thing that I really dislike about POR is that you risk being quite a distance from pool, food court, etc. if you get placed in one of the distant buildings. That was always important to us, especially with little ones.

For us, if budget allows, the Poly would be our choice.

I'd say the Poly wins hands down, no question about it. You really can't compare the two resorts -- they are too different in ammenities. I am not saying POR is not nice, but it is not in the same league as the Poly. (room size, bed size, location, monorail, room service, interior halls, etc.)

Just got back from POR and I would definitely say the POLY! I admit that I am a resort snob, but I did go to POR with an open mind. It is a beautiful resort, it is a GREAT moderate, but as far as the service is concerned, let's just say that you get what you pay for. I agree with everything that soccer mom said. I haven't stayed at the Poly - yet, but we visit there to eat nearly every trip and hope to stay there next May (if my budget allows it ;) ). Hope you have a wonderful trip.

I was leaning more towards the Poly since I stayed there 7/03, but I kept hearing on these boards how beautiful POR and POFQ was that I said why not! I absolutlely loved the Poly but I was trying to stay somewhere different this trip for a little variety. I stayed at BCV 5/04 and did not feel the magic there like at the MK resort area. Also WL and AKL only hold 4. CR looks too common and sterile for me. ( I live in NYC), and GF to stuffy. I was worried though about the bus situation at POR. It would be very tough to carry two sleeping kids a long hike to the room after a day at the parks. I was probably hoping for some POR votes though to save a few bucks. Poly here we come!!
