I am only admitting this to you guys. Houston is a having a Fourth of July Celebration (Freedom over Texas) that includes a 17-minute fireworks show that is created by Walt Disney World. My DBF is on call so we can't go.

I didn't even tell him about it since I know there is nothing he can do. How I would love to see it though!

"The show, with the theme "Wish Upon a Lone Star," will be launched from the banks of Buffalo Bayou west of Sabine Bridge at about 9:30. Kristine Bunnell, producer for the Disney-donated pyrotechnics, says the 2,000 pieces of fireworks make it the largest show the company has ever handled. It's even bigger than shows designed for special events at the theme park. The show's soundtrack will include patriotic tunes, familiar Disney melodies and Texas favorites."

That sounds like it would be a neat fireworks show to see. ARe there any friends that you could go with? Took Brianna to see the fireworks at MK last night and they were amazing.

Oh, I definitely want to see DBF tonight! That would be worse than missing the Disney fireworks.

He's doing rounds right now, but we plan on seeing the fireworks by his place tonight.

I would absolutely love to live near a good beach PW. DBF lives on Galveston Island - which is a yucky Texas beach.

I'm getting ready to have a garage sale next weekend. Talk about work. I hope it will pay off. Even if it doesn't, hopefully most of my junk will be gone.

I really would prefer the beach. Just the darned traffic. Maybe it won't be as bad as I think. Ha! After all, I do remember getting out of Madison Square Garden in NYC and getting back to NJ. It wasn't too bad. :rolleyes:

(Keep telling myself that!) LOL! Just trying to use it for a comparison in my mind.

We'll see how the weather goes. Right now we have dark clouds and thunder.

If it is not going to rain, I definitely think you should go to the beach! I bet the traffic will be worth it.

I really did not realize how much junk I have. Funny thing is, a lot of it is actually nice - just stuff that I never use. I wish Doc would be here - she would be proud of my cleaning efforts. :wave:

We had an interesting evening even without seeing any fireworks. Ha! Went to the beach all right. Only parking was ridiculous! Drove and drove and drove around all over town. Talk about lousy timing. So after 45 minutes of this, we left. Then stopped by one of the bases doing some. Looooooooong line in on a two lane road not wide enough to turn around. Ha! I was asked for ID, showed the guy, told him I really just want to leave and turn around. He said I'm in for the duration now! Ha!

He was right. It was quite a while before I could turn around and head back. All I could think was when it was over EVERYONE would be leaving on this two lane road. :faint:

LOL! So we stopped to do some food shopping and came home. Oh! I didn't realize how often I'm looking at other things while pushing my cart. I accidentally bumped into a ketchup bottle display they had done at the end of an aisle! :blush:

Oops! I felt terrible but couldn't help chuckling under my breath while still there. Richard thought I looked shocked.

I would think so. First I saw a bottle going, then three, then it started tipping over, then the entire thing crashed to the floor! :blush:

They must have had 5 levels to it. Why don't they use a table of some kind? This was a level of bottles, then a sheet of plastic, then another level of bottles...just keep going. Yikes! Sorry!

We saw fireworks on the beach last night. They were actually pretty nice - especially the grand finale!

Glad you and DBF had a good time! Wish I saw some fireworks. After all, I was out 3 1/2 hours driving, shopping, and knocking over ketchup displays. :laughing:

I still laugh when DS mentions it.

I"m always afraid of doing that PW...we didn't stay out late last night...DD was in bed by 7...saw fireworks on tv on the various channels. We also had a ton of neighbors doing them all around the neighborhood which was neat. NOthing as exciting at you two though.

No TV worth watching here yet. We're strictly on DVDs or tapes until cable gets hooked up...which won't be until I find a job. :teeth:

But I'm getting very bored of the same Cosby DVDs!! DS loves them.

Oh! This morning when I got up, I opened my bedroom door to find DS and both dogs sleeping on the floor right outside my door! :eek:

I asked DS why he was there. He said he woke up during the night and thought it was early morning since I sometimes get up in the dark early early in the fall. He said he was going to wait for me to open the door and not disturb me beforehand.

Sweet!
