For the first time ever, I have decided to let everyone know exactly what I think. I see so many people griping because they didn't get the room they wanted at the Yacht Club or they don't have a Magic Kingdom view at the Grand Floridian. Quite frankly it's getting on my nerves. Get over it! Just be glad you're getting to stay on Disney property. Period. Or just be glad you're going at all. There's alot of people out there who don't have the 'burdon' of choosing between a Deluxe or a Value or a Moderate. And do you know why? Because they're not going to Disney World at all. I can totally understand being terribly confused about where to stay, and it's totally normal to have a million questions and want others' opinions, but some of you act like it's the end of the world because you don't get to stay where you want -- even though several of you have people who are paying for your trip!!!!!! Hello!! Wake up!!! Don't you realize that there are far more important things in this world than getting a Savannah View room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge?? I hate to sound so awful, but some of you need to stop and think about this. I love visiting these boards and chatting with everyone, but lately some people have gotten a little selfish. I hope I don't make any one mad, but this has been bothering me for a while now, and I just wanted to let everyone know that some of you are sending out a bad signal to first-timers to these boards. I am very sorry if I have made anyone mad, but this has really been bothering me, up to the point where I thought about just finding other message boards. Hasn't this been bothering anyone esle?

I agree!!!

I think there's some folks who ought to let the whole "EE" deal go too!!!! Sure I realize some people liked it, but we don't need to hear about it in EVERY post some people make.

Mandy, I know what you mean. I'm always amazed at the people who say "My trip was RUINED because I didn't get_______ {fill in the blank - 'to see Spectro' or 'a lagoon view' or 'there was no EE' etc, etc.}. I'm usually just so thrilled to be on vacation that I don't let the picky stuff bother me. I don't know if these folks are being overly dramatic or just like to complain or possibly want to be help other people avoid potential problems.

On the other hand, we have been very blessed, and we get to go to Disneyworld a lot - at least once a year if not twice. If I don't see something on this trip, oh well, there's always next time. (Thank you DVC!) However, there are a lot of people out there that this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and something they've been dreaming about, planning and saving for YEARS to do. I do feel sorry for these folks when things don't work out like they thought they would.

Maybe too, it's only when people have complaints that we hear from them. For every complaint there are probably 100 people who had a great trip, but it would get a bit dull on the board to read "Just back, everything was swell" over and over again.

I don't think it's selfish at all for people here to try to get the most from their vacation dollar. It dosen't get on my nerves when people ask for example which building has the best view, which resort is the most convenient to MK...etc. I am glad I have the experiences of the people here on the trip planning boards to rely on when I plan my vacations. Sorry if we're getting on your nerves, BTW.

I can understand people wanting to have certain rooms in certain resorts with certain views. I have my preferences also. I didn't get anywhere near the section I requested on our recent trip to CSR, in fact they put me in a non-smoking building opposite from where I had requested. Did it ruin my vacation? NO WAY!! I was happy to be at WDW, and to be staying at such a great resort. I was disappointed for about 1 second when I got my room assignment. I think that folks often hold on to something way too long, instead of just going with the flow.

Thanks for posting this Mandy. I'm new here and I thought I was the only one who read these posts and thought that way. Maybe I need to keep looking around to find another BB where people have more perspective. I'm not looking for a place where everything is sunshine and lollipops, but just perspective.

gepetto -- I know everyone has their own preferences. Even I have my own! But some people are getting very worked up about silly things... Like EE... I totally agree with Bob NC!!! I know there will always be something that you want to get out of your vacation, wether it's a certain room or Cindy's ressies (dare I mention that) But some people dwell on it, too much. I hate to see people worry so much over things that can't me helped!

You know, easier than getting aggravated by it or starting a controversy, whenever you open a post with those messages, click it shut!

gepetto -- I know everyone has their own preferences. Even I have my own! And of course most of us are always going to request a certain room. But some people are getting very worked up about silly things... Like EE... I totally agree with Bob NC!!! I know there will always be something that you want to get out of your vacation, wether it's a certain room or Cindy's ressies (dare I mention that) But some people dwell on it too much. I hate to see people worry so much over things that can't me helped! AF Brenda, your're right... Just go with the flow! :D

What I see alot, and I wonder about, is people that are "afraid" of CSR because it is a convention hotel. These are not pod people, they are business people, and I don't understand the fear factor involved with a convention hotel.

Humpbacks1962 -- I know exactly what you mean!! But, it's hard to bypass these posts when you're looking for information about a resort. Plus there are so many of these posts lately that it's hard to ignore.

Mandy, what I DO see lately are more people booking standard view rooms at the deluxe resorts with these new discount codes thinking they'll get upgraded for example to a woods view (WL) or a savannah view (AKL). I think chances are that they're going to get the room type they booked. Do you think that's the cause for some of these posts you're talking about?

I guess I don't read the Cindy's threads because I've never been interested in going there.

Let's all talk about EE for a while and tick off Bob NC ;)

I think what you will get here is a lot of life.

This is a huge forum group of people. The largest on the net.

The more people you have, you will have more information, more opinions and yes more whiners.

Just the nature of the beast.

gepetto...lol...good one....EE complaints DO get me going....

But anyway...How do you like the posts recently from people asking how to get upgrades from value to deluxe resorts?...Folks expecting an upgrade could start their vacation off on the wrong foot by being really P.O.'d if they are EXPECTING upgrades.

I've never asked for an upgrade, and I get them frequently. It's always a view upgrade, (Not resort upgrade), and I think we get them just by being friendly. I used to work front desk in a hotel while attending college and I never gave an upgrade to anyone who asked for one. Hold it.....I gave ONE upgrade to someone who asked, but then after they complained about not getting enough of an upgrade, I never gave one to someone asking for it again.

Sammie....your comment of "This is a huge forum group of people. The largest on the net. "

Um sweetie, where do you get your facts from?..hate to burst your bubble...but this place isn't even close to being the largest forum of people on the net.

Ooohhhh! I could go on and on about the removal of EE... :D ;) :D Just kidding. :D :p

gepetto -- Now that you mention it, I have noticed the large amount of people who are trying to get almost rediculous upgrades. Next time, I'm going to try to get an upgrade from the All Star Music to Cinderella Castle. Is there a code for that? :D :D

And there are alot of members on this board. Even if it's not the largest on the net.

I never read the posts about requesting an upgrade from a value to a deluxe! I would be interested in reading the responses to that! :) Bob NC could you tell me where to find that thread?

I for one have never asked for an upgrade nor have I ever received one. But I still have had a wonderful time at WDW and it definately didn't ruin my vacation. I am just grateful I get to go so often even if it means staying at All Stars (which I think is a fantastic resort for the price), view isn't important! IMHO.....................

Disneylvr -- I love the All Stars too!! I honestly don't see how people could complain about them, they're wonderful!!! Certainly much better that a Best Western or Motel 6. :D ;)

You have a perfectly legitimate vent, Mandy.

I'm reminded of people who will complain about a free lunch. We've never been disappointed at WDW, even when we didn't get our favorite room or view. If that is all it takes to ruin someone's vacation, then maybe they'd be happier someplace else. It's a free country.

Our first trip to wdw was a lagoon veiw at the poly. We didn't know about these boards or anything. We paid rack rate and got a room with a tree blocking our view of everything, so what! We had such a great time, we've been back every year since, we just don't care about the room, we're never there, except when we sleep.
Cro has always been great, the resorts are great. There is no place on earth that delivers a finer vacation than wdw. (period)
